Wolfgang Schranz
Wolfgang Schranz (born 18 or 19 March 1976) is a former professional tennis player from Austria. Schranz won the 1992 Austrian National Championships, for the 16 and under age group. He competed in main draw of the French Open twice, in 1997 and 1998. In the first tournament he lost in the opening round to Gastón Etlis and he again failed to make the second round in 1998, when he was beaten by Felix Mantilla. His best results on tour came at events in his home country. In 1994 he made the quarter-finals of the St. Pölten tournament. Schranz had a win over world number 40 Franco Squillari in the 1999 Austrian Open, where he made the round of 16. At the same event two years later he was a quarter-finalist in the doubles, partnering Thomas Strengberger. The Austrian also played Davis Cup tennis for his country. Franco Squillari (born 22 August 1975) is a former professional male tennis player from Argentina. He won 3 singles titles, reached the semifinals of the 2000 French Open and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 11. Career As a junior, Squillari won the 1993 South American Closed Junior Championships (in Paraguay). Squillari entered the world's top 50 in 1998, and won a total of three ATP Tour singles titles (all in Germany) during his career. He reached the semifinals of the 2000 French Open defeating Alexander Popp, Jiří Vaněk, Karol Kučera, Younes El Aynaoui and future champion Albert Costa, before losing to Magnus Norman. Rogier Wassen
Rogier Wassen (born 9 August 1976) is a Dutch tennis player who competed regularly on the ATP Tour primarily as a doubles player. Wassen reached his highest doubles ranking on the ATP Tour on 10 September 2007 when he became World No. 24. The right-hander has won three ATP doubles titles. The Heineken Open in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2006 and 2007 teaming up with Andrei Pavel and Jeff Coetzee respectively. In 2007 he won the Ordina Open in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, again with Jeff Coetzee. The South Africa men's national tennis team represents South Africa in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Tennis South Africa. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2016, 135 nations entered teams into the competition. Thomas Strengberger
Thomas Strengberger (born 5 October 1975) is a former professional tennis player from Austria. Career A doubles specialist, Strengberger had the best performance of his career at the 1997 Austrian Open, where he and partner Thomas Buchmayer were surprise finalists, having entered the tournament as wildcards. They upset the top seeded pairing of Luis Lobo and Andrei Olhovskiy in the semi-final, but were unable to defeat Wayne Arthurs and Richard Fromberg in the decider. The Austrian did well at his home event again in 2001, making the quarter-finals, this time with Wolfgang Schranz as his partner.
