Wolfe Lake
Wolfe Lake is a lake in Ontario, Canada, located in the eastern part of the province in South Frontenac and Rideau Lakes townships. The nearest village is Westport. The shoreline surrounding Wolfe Lake is a mix of cottages, farmland and forest, with both gradual sloping shoreline and steeply pitched grades of rocky outcroppings. There are eight islands within the lake, including Derbyshire, Grape, Turnip, Woods, Horseshoe, Duck, Bateman, and Whitefish. Some species of fish living in Wolfe Lake include both smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, perch, rockbass, sunfish, bluegill, crappies and whitefish. Wildlife is diverse, including black bear, white-tailed deer, eastern coyote, fox, fishers, minks, weasels, raccoons, common loons, great blue herons, bald eagles, ospreys and kingfishers. Loon
Loons (North American English) or divers (British / Irish English) are a group of aquatic birds found in much of North America and northern Eurasia. All living species of loons are members of the genus ''Gavia'', family Gaviidae and order Gaviiformes . Description Loons, which are the size of large ducks or small geese, resemble these birds in shape when swimming. Like ducks and geese, but unlike coots (which are Rallidae) and grebes ( Podicipedidae), the loon's toes are connected by webbing. The loons may be confused with the cormorants (Phalacrocoracidae), but can be distinguished from them by their distinct call. Cormorants are not-too-distant relatives of loons, and like them are heavy-set birds whose bellies, unlike those of ducks and geese, are submerged when swimming. Rideau Lakes, Ontario
Rideau Lakes is a township (Canada), township located within Leeds and Grenville United Counties in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The township was incorporated on 1 January 1998 by amalgamating the former townships of North Crosby, South Crosby, Bastard, South Burgess and South Elmsley with the village of Newboro. Rideau Lakes lies in the northwest corner of Leeds and Grenville, and is geographically the largest municipality in the county. Farming, tourism, and service industries form the backbone of the local economy. Westport, Ontario
Westport is a village in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It lies at the west end of Upper Rideau Lake, at the head of the navigable Rideau Canal system, southwest of Ottawa. The village of Westport was incorporated as an independent municipality in 1904. Surrounded by the Township of Rideau Lakes, within Leeds County, Westport is Ontario's smallest municipality (by land area). History The first settlers to the Westport area arrived in the period between 1810 and 1820. The land on which Westport now sits was originally granted by the Crown to a Mr. Hunter, but he never settled in the area and it was eventually purchased by Reuben Sherwood in 1817. CJCE-FM, branded as ''The Juice'', was a low-power Canada, Canadian radio station broadcasting a Christian radio, Christian format airing at 93.7 FM broadcasting, FM, licensed to Godfrey, Ontario, Godfrey, Ontario.
