Wings (1990 Video Game)
''Wings'' is a World War I video game developed and published by Cinemaware. It was released for the Amiga in 1990. The action sequences are similar in style to those of the 1927 silent film ''Wings''. An enhanced version was released for the Game Boy Advance as ''Wings Advance'' in 2002. A remake of the original, ''Wings! Remastered'', was published in 2014 and 2015 for Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS. Gameplay ''Wings'' has a mixture of gameplay styles including 3D dog fights, top down bombing missions, and diagonally-scrolling strafing sections. It is action oriented, but features the story narrative and atmospheric presentation that typified many of Cinemaware's titles. Cinemaware was a video game developer and publisher that released several titles in the 1980s based on various film themes. ''Amiga User International'' (or ''AUI'') was a monthly computer magazine published in its later years by AUI Limited, it was the first dedicated Amiga magazine in Europe and in comparison to other Amiga magazines, AUI had a more serious perspective. Defender Of The Crown
''Defender of the Crown'' is a strategy computer game designed by Kellyn Beck. It was Cinemaware's first game, and was originally released for the Commodore Amiga in 1986, setting a new standard for graphic quality in home computer games. In 1987 it was ported to the Commodore 64, Atari ST, MS-DOS, and Macintosh. It was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Amstrad CPC, Apple IIGS, CDTV, CD-i, Atari Jaguar and Intellivision. An unofficial ZX Spectrum port was also produced. A sequel, ''Defender of the Crown II'', was released in 1993 for the CDTV and Amiga CD32. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. The Amiga 500, also known as the A500, is the first low-end version of the Amiga home computer. It contains the same Motorola 68000 as the Amiga 1000, as well as the same graphics and sound coprocessors, but is in a smaller case similar to that of the Commodore 128.
