Wilson is a town in Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 5,993 at the 2010 census. The town was named after an early settler, Reuben Wilson, who built and dwelt in a log cabin on the shore of Lake Ontario at the site of what would become the Village of Wilson. The Town of Wilson is on the northern border of the county and contains a village, also called Wilson. History The Town of Wilson was established in 1818 from the town of Porter. The origin of the town name is Reuben Wilson, one of the earliest pioneers of the town. The Morse Cobblestone Farmhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. CN Tower

Wilson-Tuscarora State Park
Wilson-Tuscarora State Park is a state park in Niagara County, New York. The park is located on the west side of the Village of Wilson along the south shore of Lake Ontario. Lake Road (New York State Route 18) passes through the park. History The park was formed in 1965 on what was previously a sheep farm. Facilities The park is open year-round for day use and offers a beach, picnic tables and pavilions, a playground, fishing (pan fish and game fish), hiking, a nature trail, seasonal wildfowl and small game hunting, snowshoeing and cross-county skiing, and a food concession. New York State Route 425 (NY 425) is a north–south state highway in the western portion of New York in the United States. It extends for from an interchange with Interstate 290 (I-290) in the town of Tonawanda to an intersection with NY 18 on the shore of Lake Ontario in the village of Wilson. New York State Route 18 (NY 18) is an east–west state highway in western New York in the United States. It runs parallel to the south shore of Lake Ontario for most of its length between Niagara County and Monroe County. Scurvy
Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Early symptoms of deficiency include weakness, feeling tired and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding.
