The Epiphone Wilshire is a solid body electric guitar made by Epiphone from 1959 to 1970. It was positioned between the higher specification Crestwood and the lower specification Coronet. The Wilshire was reissued in two versions, the Wilshire II and Wilshire III, from 1982 to 1985. It was reissued again starting in 2009 and remains in the Epiphone catalog. History The Wilshire was introduced in 1959 as a symmetrical, double-cut, solid body guitar with a square-edged body and two P-90 pickups. For the 1963 model year, the guitar was substantially changed to an asymmetrical shape with rounded edges and two alnico mini-humbucker pickups. It remained largely in this configuration for the remainder of its production run. The Wilshire was reissued from 1982 to 1985 as the Wilshire II and Wilshire III. The Wilshire 5000 Total Market Index, or more simply the Wilshire 5000, is a market-capitalization-weighted index of the market value of all American-stocks actively traded in the United States. As of March 31, 2022, the index contained 3,660 components. The Wilshire 4500 Completion Index, more commonly the Wilshire 4500, is a capitalization-weighted index of all stocks actively traded in the United States with the exception of the stocks included in the S&P 500 index. The index is created by removing the stocks in the S&P 500 Index from the Wilshire 5000. Many managers of small-cap and mid-cap funds use the Wilshire 4500 as a performance benchmark. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officially known as the City of Los Angeles Police Department, is the municipal police department of Los Angeles, California. Wilshire/Western (LACMTA Station)
Wilshire/Western station is an underground rapid transit (known locally as a subway) station on the D Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located under Wilshire Boulevard at Western Avenue, after which the station is named, in the Mid-Wilshire and Koreatown districts of Los Angeles. It is the current western terminus of the D Line. Prior plans called for the D Line to extend to Fairfax Avenue, then turn north into the San Fernando Valley but due to political disagreements, the line currently terminates here and the B Line travels to the Valley via Vermont Avenue. Metro is now currently constructing the Purple Line Extension to extend the D Line west from this station to Westwood/VA Hospital station in Westwood, near UCLA. Wilshire/Vermont station is an underground rapid transit (known locally as a subway) station on the B Line and D Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The station is located near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, after which the station is named, in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Koreatown. Unlike the other stations on Wilshire or Vermont which were built directly under the street, this station is offset on a diagonal between the two streets, allowing the lines to diverge without trains on one line having to slow for a tight turn. The station has a unique layout with two side platforms on two levels, necessitated by the flying junction between the lines just west of the station.
