Willy Stähle
Willy Juana Stähle (16 June 1954 – 27 August 2015) was a Dutch world water skiing champion. As a young child, Stähle lived in Venezuela, where she learned water skiing from her father. Back in the Netherlands, the family lived in Bergen and she went to school in Alkmaar. In 1968 she won her first Dutch national championship water skiing. The next year, at the age of 15, she won her first European championship, and in 1971 her one world championship, in the trick discipline. For that achievement she became the Dutch Sportswoman of the Year in 1971. Stähle won a gold and a silver medal at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich for women's figure skiing and slalom, respectively; however, Olympic water skiing was considered a demonstration sport at the time and her medals did not go toward the official count. Zorgvlied (cemetery)
Zorgvlied is a cemetery on the Amsteldijk in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on the left bank of the river Amstel. The cemetery was opened in 1870 by the city of Amstelveen which still owns and operates it, though since 1896 (when city lines were redrawn) it is located within the boundaries of the city of Amsterdam. One of the country's best-known cemeteries, it is notable for the large number of celebrities, especially from the literary and theater worlds, buried there. History The cemetery takes its name from the villa on whose grounds it is built. The design, by Jan David Zocher, is in the English garden style. Zorgvlied was expanded in 1892 by Zocher's son, Louis Paul Zocher, and again in 1900, 1919, and 1926, when it became a burial place for the upper classes who had often been buried in Westerveld in Driehuis. The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. It has a special statutory obligation to make news and sports programmes for the three Dutch public television channels and the Dutch public radio services. It is funded by the Dutch government.
