Willy Marshall
Willy Marshall is an American Libertarian politician and became the first openly gay mayor in Utah when he was elected in 2001 to serve as the mayor of the town of Big Water, Utah. In keeping with his libertarian principles, Marshall repealed his municipal salary. He also cut municipal taxes by 50 percent and attempted to decriminalize marijuana. The Libertarian Party (LP) is a Political parties in the United States, political party in the United States that promotes civil liberties, non-interventionism, ''laissez-faire'' capitalism, and Limited government, limiting the size and scope of government. Homosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction, or sexual behavior between members of the same sex or gender. Big Water, Utah
Big Water is a town in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 475 at the 2010 census, up from 417 at the 2000 census. It is located northwest of Page, Arizona, on US-89 near Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon Dam. It was originally called Glen Canyon City and housed workers who built the dam in the 1950s. Big Water made news in the 1980s as a polygamous colony of the Joseph clan. It also made news in 1986, when the mayor Alex Joseph and the city council left the Republican Party to join the Libertarian Party. Kane County is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 7,125. Its county seat and largest city is Kanab.
