Will Haskell
William Haskell (born June 28, 1996) is an American politician and a former member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 26 from 2019 to 2023. The district includes the towns of Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton, and parts of Bethel, Weston, Westport, and New Canaan. The 26th District has not been represented by another Democrat since 1973. Haskell is a member of the Democratic Party, and was a member of the State Senate Democratic Caucus. Education Haskell attended school in the Westport Public School System and graduated from Staples High School in 2014, where he was an active member of Staples Players, the student theater group. He attended Georgetown University majoring in Government and minoring in Journalism. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa in May 2018, shortly after launching his campaign in March of that same year. Connecticut's 26th State Senate District
Connecticut's 26th Senate district elects one member of the Connecticut Senate. The district consists of the entirety of Westport, Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding, and parts of Bethel, New Canaan and Weston. Previously, the 26th district comprised Norwalk, Wilton, New Canaan, and Easton. However, in the late 1970s Norwalk and Darien became the 25th district. Its current senator is Democrat Will Haskell. Staples High School is a public high school located in the town of Westport, Connecticut, United States. Staples High School is named after Horace Staples, who founded the school on April 26, 1884. The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is an American environmental advocacy group. LCV says that it "advocates for sound environmental laws and policies, holds elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and elects pro-environment candidates." The organization pursues its goals through voter education, voter mobilization, and direct contributions to political candidates. LCV includes 29 state affiliates. LCV was founded in 1970 by environmentalist Marion Edey, with support from David Brower. Cannabis in Connecticut is legal for recreational use since July 1, 2021. Medical use was legalized through legislation passed in 2012.
