Wildhearts
The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica. The Wildhearts achieved several top 20 singles and two top 10 albums in Britain, though they also faced difficulties with record companies and many internal problems often relating to drugs and depression. Much of the band's early career was affected by bitter feuds with their record company, East West. Throughout the band's history, members have regularly been replaced, with the only constant member being the band's founder, singer and guitarist Ginger. Several band members have appeared in the line-up more than once. The band has also been split up or placed on hiatus by Ginger multiple times. CJ (musician)
Christopher Paul Persaud-Jagdhar (born 27 December 1967), known professionally as C. J. Wildheart is an English musician of Guyanese and Seychellois descent. He is a solo artist and also a founding member of the UK rock band The Wildhearts. He was born in Colchester, and his early childhood was spent living in various military bases in Malaysia and Europe whilst his father and mother served in the British army. The family eventually moved back to the UK during his teens. Early bands CJ was involved with several local bands including Medusa, before achieving his first notable success in the late 1980s as the guitarist for London-based hair rockers Tattooed Love Boys. Danny McCormack
Danny McCormack (born 28 February 1972 in South Shields) is an English singer and bassist. Biography McCormack became the bass player in The Wildhearts in 1991, and soon relocated to London with the band, enjoying success during their commercial peak, before the splits in 1997 and 1998. McCormack went on to form and front The Yo-Yos, with Tom Spencer (ex-Sugarsnatch/The Lurkers), and the band released an album on Sub Pop Records, but they eventually split in 2000. He re-joined The Wildhearts when they reformed in 2001, but was dropped midway through a tour. He rejoined again in 2002, but left once more in 2003. At the time the group's frontman Ginger penned an open letter to ''Kerrang!'' magazine documenting his close friend's drug problems and wished him a complete recovery. Earth Vs The Wildhearts
''Earth vs the Wildhearts'' is the debut studio album by British rock band The Wildhearts, released in 1993. The title is based on such B-movie titles as ''Earth vs. the Flying Saucers'' and ''Earth vs. the Spider''. The album has been reissued twice: first in 1994 with the addition of the formerly single-only track "Caffeine Bomb", and again in 2010 with several B-sides from the period. Recording Mick Ronson contributed one of the three guitar solos on "My Baby Is a Headfuck". This is believed to be Ronson's final appearance on record before his death on 29 April 1993. ''21st Century Love Songs'' is the tenth studio album by English rock band The Wildhearts. It was released on 3 September 2021. The album was preceded by the singles "Sort Your Fucking Shit Out" and "Splitter". Singer/guitarist Ginger Wildheart has described the album as a chance to "flex our creative muscle". Ginger has also stated that the album's attitude is inspired by the band's most successful previous album, the 1995 release '' P.H.U.Q.'' Dunken Francis Mullett
Dunken Francis Mullett (born 23 April 1964 in Battersea, London, England), recording as Dunken Francis, is an English musician, author and martial artist. He was a founding member of cult British heavy metal band Mournblade (recording 4 albums) and later played and recorded with The Wildhearts, Hipjam and The Ragged Boys. Mullett currently holds the rank of 6th degree black belt in traditional Aikido and is the senior instructor at The Institute of Aikido Auckland based in Auckland, New Zealand and is also the author of "Aikido – A beginner's guide" and "Aikido – The first steps", both of which are used by many dojo's around the world as beginner's texts. Dogs D'Amour
The Dogs D'Amour are an English bluesey hard rock band formed in London in 1983. Over the years the band has had various line-ups, the only constant being vocalist Tyla. Their music has been described as a mixture of the Rolling Stones, the Faces and glam punk. Their 1989 release, '' A Graveyard of Empty Bottles'', reached No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart while the single "Satellite Kid" reached No. 26 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1991, the band broke up onstage, before reforming briefly in the early 1990s for the release of their sixth studio album '' More Unchartered Heights of Disgrace''. Quireboys
The Quireboys are an English rock band formed in 1984 in London, with strong ties to Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle. When the band formed they were originally known as The Queerboys and later as the London Quireboys in the United States and Canada, settling at last with their current name. History 1985–89: Formation Vocalist Spike (musician), Jonathan Gray (commonly referred to as just 'Spike') moved from Newcastle upon Tyne to London when he was 17 years old. By the mid-1980s, the two decided to form a rock and roll band, the name chosen for the group was originally 'The Choirboys' taken from the The Choirboys (film), 1977 movie of the same name, but they soon changed it to the Queerboys.
