Wiarton Airport
Wiarton Keppel International Airport, or Wiarton Airport , is located east of Wiarton, Ontario, Wiarton, Ontario, Canada. It is classified as an airport of entry by the Canada Border Services Agency on a call out basis from the Waterloo International Airport on weekdays and the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport on weekends during the summer months for general aviation aircraft with no more than 15 passengers. It serves as an important part of the overall infrastructure for the Bruce Peninsula. The airport is used for training purposes from many flight schools throughout Ontario. The town of Wiarton and the famous Bruce Caverns are easily accessible from the airport. The Bruce Trail is located on the northern portion of the airport. Wiarton, Ontario
Wiarton () is a community in the town of South Bruce Peninsula, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the western end of Colpoys Bay, an inlet off Georgian Bay, on the Bruce Peninsula. Wiarton is notable for the Wiarton Willie Festival, in February each year (starting in 1956), when national and international media cover Wiarton Willie and his Groundhog Day prediction. In the summer, Wiarton hosts the Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race. History Wiarton was built on lands acquired from the First Nations in the area. It was named after the birthplace of Sir Edmund Head, the Governor General of Canada from 1854 to 1861. In 1880, Wiarton was incorporated as a village, then with a population of 750. Bruce Trail
The Bruce Trail is a hiking trail in southern Ontario, Canada, from the Niagara River to the tip of Tobermory, Ontario. The main trail is more than long and there are over of associated side trails.
