Weyhe
Weyhe is a municipality in the district of Diepholz, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 15 km south of Bremen. History First mentioned in 860, when a sick girl from "Wege" travelled to the grave of Saint Willehad in Bremen. Legend has it that she was cured by a miracle. However, it was not until 1 March 1974 when the municipally was officially christened as "Weyhe". That day, the nine smaller municipalities Kirchweyhe, Leeste, Lahausen, Sudweyhe, Erichshof, Melchiorshausen, Dreye, Jeebel and Ahausen were united. Education In the western part there is the KGS Leeste, in the eastern part the KGS Kirchweyhe. These schools are part of the Gesamtschule (comprehensive school) system which employs all three traditional tracks in German education; Hauptschule, Realschule, and Gymnasium. Michael Rosemann
Michael Rosemann (born 7 October 1967) is a German information systems researcher and professor at thQueensland University of Technology Brisbane, Australia. He is the Director of the Centre for Future Enterprise at QUT. His research interests include revenue resilience, business process management, trust management and innovation systems. Rosemann is also the honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Southern Queensland. Biography Born in Bremen, Germany, Rosemann received degrees in business administration (1992) and a PhD in information systems (1995) from the Westphalian-Wilhelms University Muenster. Katja Hannchen Leni Riemann (, born 1 November 1963) is a German actress. The daughter of two teachers, Riemann grew up in Weyhe, near Bremen. Diepholz (district)
Diepholz () is a district in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the northeast and clockwise) the districts of Verden, Nienburg, Minden-Lübbecke (in North Rhine-Westphalia), Osnabrück, Vechta and Oldenburg, and by the cities of Delmenhorst and Bremen. The most populous municipality is Stuhr at the border to Bremen. History From the 12th century to 1585 Diepholz was a sovereign Noble Lordship, later County, within the Holy Roman Empire that was ruled over by the Noble Lords, later Counts, of Diepholz. At the beginning of the 16th century there was great pressure from the powerful duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg, which tried to annex the smaller states. By forming an alliance with the neighbouring County of Hoya and asking for help from the emperor himself the state of Diepholz managed to survive some more decades. Willehad Of Bremen
Willehad or Willihad ( la, Willehadus/Willihadus); 745 AD 8 November 789) was a Christian missionary and possibly the Bishop of Bremen from 787 AD. Willehad was born in Northumbria and probably received his education at York under Ecgbert. He was ordained after his education, and about the year 766, he went to Frisia, preaching at Dokkum and in Overijssel, to continue the missionary work of Boniface who had been martyred by the Frisians in 754. At an assembly in Paderborn in 777, Saxony was divided into missionary zones. The zone between the Weser and the Elbe, called ''Wigmodia'', was given to Willehad. From 780 Willehad preached in the region of the lower Weser River on commission from Charlemagne. Varakļāni Municipality ( lv, Varakļānu novads) is a municipality in Latgale, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Varakļāni town, Murmastiene parish and Varakļāni parish; the administrative centre being Varakļāni.
