Katja Riemann
Katja Hannchen Leni Riemann (, born 1 November 1963) is a German actress. The daughter of two teachers, Riemann grew up in Weyhe, near Bremen. Weyhe
Weyhe is a municipality in the district of Diepholz, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approximately 15 km south of Bremen. History First mentioned in 860, when a sick girl from "Wege" travelled to the grave of Saint Willehad in Bremen. Legend has it that she was cured by a miracle. However, it was not until 1 March 1974 when the municipally was officially christened as "Weyhe". That day, the nine smaller municipalities Kirchweyhe, Leeste, Lahausen, Sudweyhe, Erichshof, Melchiorshausen, Dreye, Jeebel and Ahausen were united. Education In the western part there is the KGS Leeste, in the eastern part the KGS Kirchweyhe. These schools are part of the Gesamtschule (comprehensive school) system which employs all three traditional tracks in German education; Hauptschule, Realschule, and Gymnasium. ''Comedian Harmonists'' (English title: ''The Harmonists'') is a 1997 German film, directed by Joseph Vilsmaier, about the popular German vocal group the Comedian Harmonists of the 1920s and 1930s. The film was supported by the German and Austrian film fund. Plot In 1927, unemployed German-Jewish actor Harry Frommermann is inspired by the American group The Revelers to create a German group of the same format. He holds auditions and signs on four additional singers and a pianist. Naming themselves the "Comedian Harmonists", they meet international fame and popularity. Bora Dağtekin (born 27 October 1978) is a German screenwriter and film director who has directed several of the most successful German-language films, notably ''Fack ju Göhte''. Early life Dağtekin was born and raised in Hanover to a German mother and a Turkish father and moved to Ludwigsburg to study screenwriting at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, graduating in 2006. His thesis screenplay was an retelling of the classic German play ''The Robbers'' as an action film. Career Dağtekin worked as a writer in the advertising industry before finding employment as a writer for various German television series, among them the soap opera ''Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten''. ''Fack ju Göhte'' (intentional misspelling of "Fuck you, Goethe") is a 2013 German comedy film directed by Bora Dağtekin and starring Elyas M'Barek and Karoline Herfurth, while Max von der Groeben and Jella Haase appear in supporting roles. ''The Foster Boy'' (german: Der Verdingbub) is a 2011 Swiss drama film directed by Markus Imboden. It dramatizes the fate of two Verdingkinder in Emmental. Plot Max is an orphan whose one true passion is to play the accordion. He is sent to the Bosigers farm where he meets Berteli who is also with the Bosigers as a foster child. Even though they are cared for by being fed and sent to school, Max and Berteli are treated like servants. Berteli is upset at being separated from her mother and at first Mrs Bosiger shows tenderness towards her by giving her chocolate when she cries at the dinner table. Oskar Roehler (born 21 January 1959) is a German film director, screenwriter and journalist. He was born in Starnberg, the son of writers Gisela Elsner and Klaus Roehler. Since the mid-1980s, he has been working as a screenwriter, for, among others, Niklaus Schilling, Christoph Schlingensief and Mark Schlichter. ''Rosenstraße'' is a 2003 film directed by Margarethe von Trotta, starring Maria Schrader and Katja Riemann. It deals with the Rosenstrasse protest of 1943. Plot In the present day, a widow mourns the death of her husband. She covers up the TV set and all the mirrors in the house. Her grown children are baffled by this behavior, asking why their mother has suddenly become Orthodox Jewish. The mother will not discuss her past, but her daughter wants to know what happened. Learning of a woman (Lena) who "saved" her mother during the war, she goes to Germany to learn the whole story. She finds Lena, who willingly reminisces about World War II, about her situation and the mother's childhood as a Jew growing up in Nazi Germany during the war.
