Wexford Intermediate A Hurling Championship
The Wexford Intermediate A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Top Oil Intermediate A Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition contested by mid-tier Wexford GAA clubs. The Wexford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 2012. Tara Rocks are the title-holders (2021) defeating Liam Mellows in the Final. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. The objective of the game is for players to use an ash wood stick called a hurley (in Irish a ', pronounced or ) to hit a small ball called a ' between the opponent's goalposts either over the crossbar for one point or under the crossbar into a net guarded by a goalkeeper for three points. Ballygarrett-Réalt na Mara GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in County Wexford, Ireland. The club fields teams in both hurling, Gaelic football, camogie and Ladies' Gaelic football. History The history of Gaelic games in the Courtown-Ballygarrett area of County Wexford dates back to the 1920s. Réalt na Mara, which was based in Courtown, was noted as a hurling club and competed in the local championships over a 40-year period before its decline. Ballygarrett concentrated on Gaelic football club in the early years but later became a hurling-oriented club. Réalt na Mara was reformed as a Gaelic football club in 1979. Fethard St Mogues GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Fethard-on-Sea, County Wexford, Ireland. They are a dual Senior club. It plays in the Wexford GAA club championships, fielding teams in hurling (at Senior and Junior B) and Gaelic football (at Senior and Junior B). Fethard GAA Club was founded in 1889 and was known as "The Hook". This name was changed to Erin Hope in the early 1900s. The first colours worn by the club was canary yellow and green. The club won its first county Junior B football title in 1917 and was then known as Fethard. Jim Byrne, who won 6 Leinster and 4 All Ireland senior football medals, was teaching in Poulfur at that time and was instrumental in getting that team together. Crossabeg–Ballymurn GAA Club is located in County Wexford, Ireland. It is part of Wexford GAA. It is three miles (5 km) north of Wexford town and runs for approximately 11 miles (18 km) across like a figure eight. The parish consists of the two half parishes of Crossabeg and Ballymurn. Wexford Park
Chadwicks Wexford Park is a GAA stadium in Wexford, County Wexford, Republic of Ireland. It is the home of Wexford GAA's Gaelic football and hurling teams. After a recent development the ground has a capacity of about 18,000. It is located in the Clonard area on the outskirts of Wexford Town, and although the ground does not have floodlights it regularly hosts evening matches during the brighter summer months. In 2015 a local technology company, Innovate Business Technology, signed a deal for the naming rights to the stadium. The new name unveiled was Innovate Wexford Park. Naomh Éanna GAA is a hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club based in Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland.St.Enda’s History The hurling club was founded in 1970 by a group of Christian Brothers and takes its name from Scoil Éanna, the school founded by Patrick Pearse. St Martin's GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Murrintown in the Parish of Piercestown, County Wexford, Ireland. The club was founded in 1932 and fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. The women's arm of the club fields teams in both camogie and ladies' Gaelic football.
