The Westshore Wolves are a Junior B Ice Hockey team based in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada. They are a member of the South Division of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League. The Wolves entered the VIJHL in 2012, replacing a former franchise, the Westshore Stingers. They play their home games at The Q Centre The Q Centre (formerly Bear Mountain Arena) is in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League
The Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) is an unincorporated not-for-profit association which operates a junior "B" ice hockey league of 11 franchised member clubs, all of which are currently located in Canada, on Vancouver Island. The Brent Patterson Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season. The Q Centre
The Q Centre (formerly Bear Mountain Arena) is in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada. In 2014, the arena was named "The Q Centre" after local radio station CKKQ-FM. The arena opened in February 2004, has 2,300 seats and houses year-round events for hockey and lacrosse. With an additional floor capacity of 860 people and standing room area for up to 480, this premier spectator facility can hold any type of event, from trade shows to major sporting and entertainment events. The arena is hockey home of the BCHL Victoria Grizzlies. Westshore Stingers
The Westshore Stingers were a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. They were members of the South Division of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL). The Stingers played their home games at Bear Mountain Arena. John Butler-Smith was the team's last president and general manager; and Bryan Grant was the last coach. The team was founded in 2005 in Sooke, British Columbia as the Sooke Stingers until relocating to Victoria in 2008. Legacy In the 2008-09 season, the Stingers completed the season without earning a single point, losing all 48 regular season and 4 playoff games in regulation time. Despite multiple losses in overtime in the following season, the losing streak would extend 91 games until the dangerous combination of Jake Nixon, Travis Oickle, and Brandon Krupa led the stingers to their first win since relocating to Bear Mountain Arena. The Saanich Predators are a junior "B" ice hockey team based in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the South Division of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL). Formerly known as the Saanich Braves, they play their home games at George Pearkes Arena. Norm Kelly is the team's president and general manager, Sam Waterfield is the coach and they are captained by forward Jack Rachwalski.
