Rottum (river)
The Rottum is a river in the region of Upper Swabia in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is a tributary of the river Westernach (Danube), Westernach, itself a tributary of the Danube, and has a length of 24 km. Including its source river Bellamonter Rottum and its lower course Westernach, it is long. The Rottum runs from south to north parallel to the river Rot (Danube), Rot to the east. Geography The Rottum is formed at the confluence of the Bellamonter Rottum and the Steinhauser Rottum (also known as Lower Rottum) within the borders of the city of Ochsenhausen from where it flows in a northerly direction towards the river Danube passing Goppertshofen. It then flows through Reinstetten and Schönebürg towards Mietingen. Between Schönebürg and Mietingen an unnamed tributary empties its waters into the Rottum. Laupheim
Laupheim (; Swabian German, Swabian: ''Laoba'') is a Große Kreisstadt, major district town in southern Germany in the States of Germany, state of Baden-Württemberg. Laupheim was first mentioned in 778 and gained German town law, city rights in 1869. One of the main trading routes, from Ulm to Ravensburg and then on towards Lake Constance ran through Laupheim. Having developed from a rural settlement into a small urban area, Laupheim is home to a number of small to medium-sized industries and businesses. One of the largest employers are the Bundeswehr, German Armed Forces which maintain an Military airbase, airbase close to Laupheim, Laupheim Air Base. Laupheim was the administrative centre of the Districts of Germany, district of Laupheim from 1842 until 1938 when the district was abolished. Erbach an der Donau is a town on the Danube River in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Located in the Alb-Donau District, Erbach lies between Ulm and Ehingen an der Donau on the southern edge of the Swabian Jura. History The oldest known mention of Erbach was in the Konstanz Tithe Book in 1275 as a parish called ''Irlebach'', although findings dating from the Neolithic Age indicate the area around Erbach was settled earlier. Erbach received town privileges on 1 August 2002. In 1972 the community Ringingen was incorporated into Erbach.
