Westallgäu
Westallgäu is the western part of the Allgäu in Germany. It contains large parts of the districts of Lindau (district), Lindau in the south west of the region, Swabia in Bavaria and the district of Ravensburg (district), Ravensburg in the south east of Baden-Württemberg. Westallgäu extends to the north to, amongst others, the towns of Leutkirch im Allgäu, Leutkirch, Wangen im Allgäu, Wangen and Isny im Allgäu, Isny. Westallgäu is bordered by Oberallgäu to the east and the Austrian state (Land) of Vorarlberg to the south. To the southwest, Westallgäu borders Lake Constance through the town of Lindau. The Adelegg mountains located in Westallgäu represent foothills of the Alps, reaching an altitude of 1,118 m at the ''Schwarzer Grat'' ("Black Ridge"). Scheidegg, Bavaria
Scheidegg is a market town and municipality in the district of Lindau in Bavaria in Germany and a licensed Kneipp cure spa and open-air health resort. Geography Located in the Westallgäu region, the municipality of Scheidegg consists of the town of Scheidegg and the district of Scheffau. To the west and south, the municipality borders on the Bregenz Forest, which is part of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. History The area around Scheidegg was most likely settled for the first time in the 6th and 7th centuries by the Alamanni. Until 1481 it belonged to Weiler and was - due to the document being lost - first mentioned in 1255 in St. Gallen. The imperial Benedictine abbey of St. Gallen promoted Christianity. In 1296, Abbot Wilhelm sold Scheidegg to Count Hugo of Bregenz (Montfort). Weiler-Simmerberg is a market town in the Swabian Lindau district. Geography Being located in the Westallgäu, the market town is bordering on the region of the Bregenz Forest, part of the Austrian administrative region of Vorarlberg. Hergatz
Hergatz is a municipality in the district of Lindau in Bavaria in Germany. The contemporary town was formed from the former municipalities of Wohmbrechts and Maria-Thann in the course of the municipal reform at the end of the 1970s.
