Wen Ying Hall
The Wen Ying Hall () is a cultural center in North District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The center was established in October 1976 by entrepreneur He Yong and funded by the Taichung Wen Ying Foundation. In 1997, the second floor of the building was converted into the Special Exhibition Room for Traditional Taiwan Block Print. Architecture The design of the building is a mix blend between western and Chinese style. The building consists of Zhunzheng Auditorium, Traditional Taiwanese Woodblock Prints Special Collections Room, Wen Ying Gallery and Training Room. Exhibition The center houses more than 3,000 pieces of cultural and folk artifacts. Transportation The hall is accessible within walking distance north of Taichung Station of Taiwan Railways. North District () is an urban district in the Taiwanese city of Taichung. It was a part of Taichung before the City and County were amalgamated in 2010. The North District is one of Taichung's major developed shopping, education, and cultural areas. Taichung (, Wade–Giles: ''Tʻai²-chung¹'', pinyin: ''Táizhōng''), officially Taichung City, is a special municipality located in central Taiwan. Taichung has approximately 2.8 million residents and is the second most populous city of Taiwan, as well as the most populous city in Central Taiwan. The Taichung City Government () is the municipal government of Taichung, Taiwan. History Taichū City Government was established by the Governor-General of Taiwan and the Japanese colonial authorities on 1 October 1920. Following the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, Taichung had been reconstituted as a provincial city government on 25 October 1945. Taichung City merged with Taichung County to become a special municipality on 25 December 2010. Taichung Railway Station
Taichung station () is a railway station in Taichung, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways Administration. It is served by all TRA services along the route. History The station was originally constructed in 1905 in a wooden building architectural style and started its operation in 1908. In 1917, it was rebuilt as a red brick structure with Renaissance architectural style. On 16 October 2016, the elevated station was inaugurated in which the ground-level station was shut down. The first train that arrived at the elevated station was at 06:28.
