Weishe–Hongguo Railway
The Weishe–Hongguo railway or Weihong railway (), is a branch railroad of the Nanning–Kunming railway in Guizhou province of Southwest China. The Weihong Line branches off of the main Nankun Line at Weishe Township in Xingyi municipality and runs north to Hongguo Township in Liupanshui municipality, where the line connects to the Pan County West Railway. The Weishe–Hongguo railway was built as part of the Nankun railway, which was constructed from 1990 to 1997. Railroad
Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. In contrast to road transport, where the vehicles run on a prepared flat surface, rail vehicles (rolling stock) are directionally guided by the tracks on which they run. Tracks usually consist of steel rails, installed on sleepers (ties) set in ballast, on which the rolling stock, usually fitted with metal wheels, moves. Nanning–Kunming Railway
The Nanning–Kunming railway, or Nankun railway (), is a single-track electrified railway in Southwest China between Nanning and Kunming, provincial capitals, respectively, of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province. Guizhou
Guizhou (; formerly Kweichow) is a landlocked province in the southwest region of the People's Republic of China. Its capital and largest city is Guiyang, in the center of the province. Southwest China () is a region in the south of the People's Republic of China. Xingyi () is a county-level city administered by the Qianxinan Buyei and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, in the southwest of Guizhou Province, China. Liupanshui
Liupanshui () is a city in western Guizhou province, People's Republic of China. The name Liupanshui combines the first character from the names of each of the city's three constituent counties: Liuzhi, Panzhou, Shuicheng. As a prefecture-level city with an area of , Liupanshui had a total population of over 2,830,000 in 2006, making it the second largest in the province, though only 251,900 inhabitants were urban residents. The city is known locally as "The Cool City" or "Cool Capital" due to its low average summer temperature. Pan County West Railway
The Pan County west railway or Panxi railway (), is a single-track electrified railroad in Southwest China between Zhanyi County in eastern Yunnan province and Baiguo Township in Pan County in western Guizhou province. The line is in length and was built during the Cultural Revolution from 1966 to 1975 to exploit coal fields in western Guizhou and support inland industries as part of the Third Front. The line's name is derived from the fact that the railway from Hongguo to Baiguo, runs along the western border of Pan County. The Panxi line was electrified in 2001 and permits trains from Chengdu to reach the seaport at Fangchenggang by following the Neijiang–Kunming railway, Liupanshui–Baiguo railway, Panxi and Weishe–Hongguo railway lines to the Nanning–Kunming railway at Weishe, saving from traveling via the Chengdu–Kunming railway to the Nankun line at Kunming.
