The Weekenders
''The Weekenders'' (also known as ''Disney's The Weekenders'') is an American animated television series created by Doug Langdale that ran on February 26, 2000 with the last episode aired on February 29, 2004, spanning four seasons. It centers on the weekend life of four 12-year-old 7th graders: Tino, Lor, Carver, and Tish. The series originally aired on American Broadcasting Company, ABC (Disney's One Saturday Morning) and UPN (Disney's One Too), but was later moved to Toon Disney. Weekender (Flowered Up Song)
"Weekender" is a 1992 single by the band Flowered Up. The band had performed the song as early as 1991. The song has been described as denouncing people who only go to clubs on the weekend and advocating a party-all-the-time philosophy of the group. The group originally wanted it to be released through their current label London Records. The single was turned down by the label and released later in April 1992 by Heavenly Recordings. "Weekender" charted in the United Kingdom for five weeks, peaking at number 20 on the charts. The song received positive reviews on its initial release and was later referred to by ''The Guardian'' as the group's masterpiece. Background and production London Records dropped Flowered Up a few months after the release of their album ''A Life With Brian'' when they refused to release their 12 minute long single for "Weekender". Sydney Weekender
''Sydney Weekender'' is an Australian travel show featuring destinations throughout the state of New South Wales. The program debuted in 1994 on Saturdays at 5:30pm, later moving to Sundays at the same time before the local nightly news bulletin. It is hosted by Matt Shirvington and airs on the Seven Network in New South Wales and nationally on 7Two. The program visits various locations in the state highlighting activities, attractions, and dining options. ''Sydney Weekender'' reached a milestone of 750 episodes on 18 August 2012. ''The Weekenders'' is a one-off comic television pilot starring Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, produced by Granada Television for Channel 4. Broadcast on Wednesday 17 June 1992 as part of a series of pilots entitled ''Bunch of Five'', it was a surreal sitcom in which two friends, Jim and Bob, visit a meat festival taking place in an open field. They are then chased by aliens who want the meat they have bought to feed their queen. Weekender Records
Weekender Records was an Artist Management Company and an independent record label, based in London, England, it also had a sister company based in Berlin Germany. The company closed in March 2010 (Germany in 2009). History It was established in September 2006. Initially started by Austrian-based club owner Justin Barwick with help from London-based band manager Grant Box and Dymphna Terzoli who had 9 years' experience in the industry including Virgin Records, Mean Fiddler, KOKO. The label took its name from the Weekender Club in Innsbruck where many artists on the label were discovered. Its first year saw the release of an album by DOGS, a multitude of single releases including Eight Legs, The Lea Shores, The Runners, Look See Proof and The Indelicates, many of whom would go on to be album artistes. Melbourne Weekender
''Melbourne Weekender'' is a travel and lifestyle show hosted by Cameron Ling. The weekly, half-hour program was produced by Seven Productions and visited various locations in Melbourne and Victoria, showing destinations and experiences which can be enjoyed on a weekend. The show was first screened in 2005 on Saturdays at 5.30pm. It was originally hosted by Peter Mitchell and then Jo Silvagni. The show was produced by Dreampool Productions with a range of presenters who feature stories on gardening, pets, renovating, fishing, boating, dining, entertainment and where to take the family around Melbourne. In June 2015 the new show returned to air on the Seven network with host Cameron Ling and his team of reporters.
