Sydney Weekender
''Sydney Weekender'' is an Australian travel show featuring destinations throughout the state of New South Wales. The program debuted in 1994 on Saturdays at 5:30pm, later moving to Sundays at the same time before the local nightly news bulletin. It is hosted by Matt Shirvington and airs on the Seven Network in New South Wales and nationally on 7Two. The program visits various locations in the state highlighting activities, attractions, and dining options. ''Sydney Weekender'' reached a milestone of 750 episodes on 18 August 2012. The series has spawned spin-off (media), spin-offs including ''Melbourne Weekender''. Many of the locations featured in the program have a commercial arrangement whereby they have bought advertisements or paid to be featured in an episode. In November 2019, the Seven Network announced the show had been axed with the final episodes screening in early 2020. Matt Shirvington
Matt Shirvington (born 25 October 1978) is an Australian athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Shirvington is the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time. He qualified for the 100m semi-finals in Sydney 2000, finishing 5th. Shirvington is currently a sport presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' and host of ''Sydney Weekender.'' Athletics Shirvington generally competed in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint. Ada Nicodemou (Greek: Άντα Νικοδήμου) (born 14 May 1977) is an Australian actress of Greek Cypriot descent . She began her acting career in 1994 in TV serial ''Heartbreak High'' as Katerina Ioannou. Rahni Sadler ( Sydney, June 24, 1972), is an Australian television reporter. Career Sadler first worked in media as a teen model for Chadwick Model Management. Her career focus though, was journalism. After doing work experience in radio, TV and at magazines, Rahni secured her first reporting job at WIN TV, the Nine Network's affiliate in Canberra. She chose Australia's capital because she studied politics at Sydney University, taking part in the Government Honours program. Andrew "ET" Ettingshausen (born 29 October 1965) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Mark Beretta (born 16 June 1966) is an Australian journalist, best known as a sports reporter on Seven Network program ''Sunrise''.
