Wazi Abdul Hamid
Wazi Abdul Hamid (born 1971) is a veteran motorcycle cub prix rider from Malaysia, winning the 1996 125 cc. Underbone championship. He retired from the motorcycle racing industry in December 2006 and recently, he opened a pocket bike racing course in Taman Desa near Desa Waterpark in Kuala Lumpur together with Shahrol Yuzy. The racing course is known as Yuzywazi Race Course. Malaysian Cub Prix
The Malaysian Cub Prix Championship is a national-level underbone or moped racing series for motorcycles with displacements from 100 to 150cc. The tournament is a grassroots developer with the main objective of discovering and developing Malaysian motorcycle racing talents. The title sponsor of the championship is Petronas and it is supported by motorcycle manufacturers Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki. History The name Cub Prix itself is derived from the moniker Cub 仔. Pronounced ‘cub chai’ or ‘kapcai’, the phrase literally means Little Cub in Cantonese and refers to the original Honda Cub (Honda 50 that was introduced by Soichiro Honda in 1958). An underbone is a type of motorcycle that uses structural tube framing with an overlay of plastic or non-structural body panels and contrasts with monocoque or unibody designs where pressed steel serves both as the vehicle's structure and bodywork. A Mat Rempit is a Malaysian term for "an individual who participates in activities such as illegal street racing, bike stunt performance, petty crime and public disturbance using a motorcycle", usually involving 2- and 4-stroke underbone motorcycles, colloquially known as ''Kapcai'' or scooters. Mat Rempits are often seen on Malaysian streets, where they would gather in groups and race against each other for cheap thrills such as races and stunts (such as the wheelie, superman (lying flat on the seat), wikang and scorpion (standing on the seat with one leg during a wheelie). However, there are cases where they openly rebel against authorities where they would run through roadblocks, ride against the traffic or hit police officers with their bikes.
