Waukee High School (also known as Waukee Senior High School) is a three-year public high school in Waukee, Iowa, United States. The school hosts grades 10–12. It is run by the Waukee Community School District. Freshmen attend one of two separate 8/9 schools, Prairieview or Timberline. As of the 2017–18 school year, the school has an enrollment of 1,950 students and 112 faculty with a 13:1 student-teacher ratio.https://www.waukee.k12.ia.us/school/waukee-high-school/ History The high school first opened its doors in 1997. Since then it has renovated and expanded in 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2012. The Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Tucker Dale DeVries (born December 7, 2002) is an American college basketball player for the Drake Bulldogs of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). Early life and high school career DeVries grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and initially attended Elkhorn South High School. Payton A. Sandfort (born July 12, 2002) is an American college basketball player for the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference. Early life and high school career Sandfort grew up in Waukee, Iowa and attended Waukee High School, where he played basketball and golf. He averaged 19.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and four assists as a junior. Sandfort was named the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association 4A Player of the Year after averaging 16.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists during his senior season. Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. Nathan Jonas "Joey" Jordison (April 26, 1975 – July 26, 2021) was an American musician. He was the original drummer and co-founder of the heavy metal band Slipknot, in which he was designated #1, as well as the guitarist for the horror punk supergroup Murderdolls. Jordison grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, with his parents and two sisters, and was given his first drum kit at the age of 8. Jake Knott (born October 24, 1990) is a former American football linebacker. He was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played college football at Iowa State. High school Knott attended Waukee High School in Waukee, IA where he was a three-sport athlete (Football, Track, Baseball), earning all-state honors in each sport.
