Water Valley is an unincorporated community within Mountain View County, Alberta, Canada. Situated amongst the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, Water Valley is approximately from the City of Calgary, along Highway 579 west of Highway 22 (Cowboy Trail). Mountain View County
Mountain View County is a municipal district in Division No. 6 in central Alberta, Canada. Located between the cities of Calgary and Red Deer within the Calgary-Edmonton corridor, its municipal office is located north of the Town of Didsbury. Winchell Lake, Alberta
Winchell Lake is a small lake and recreation area in Mountain View County, Alberta, Canada located roughly south of the unincorporated community of Water Valley and northwest of the town of Cochrane. The lake is a popular fishing and day use destination, and is stocked annually with Rainbow trout. The nearby neighbourhood of Winchell Lake Estates is considered part of Water Valley by Mountain View County. Description Winchell Lake is a narrow yet deep lake that is surrounded entirely by the Winchell Lake Recreation Area, a day use park that is operated by Mountain View County. It is accessed by a small road off of Township Road 290A. The recreation area has a parking lot with an outhouse and a boat launch.
