Warriors RC
Warriors Rugby Club Helsinki or Warriors RC or WRC is a Finnish rugby club in Helsinki. The club was founded in 2001, when rugby as a sport was played by only a few individuals in Finland. During the first years, the club had players and members from more than 20 different countries. Warriors was the first club in Finland to establish a ladies rugby team, and has won four ladies XV Championships. Today WRC is one of the most successful rugby clubs in Finland, has won many Finnish championships, and since 2008 always finished the men's XV's season in the top 2. WRC also fields several national team players. Current teams Warriors are currently fielding the following teams: Women *Women's 15's Championship team *Women's 1st division team *Women's 7's team Since 2018 Warriors Women's teams have been collaborating with Linna RC and playing under the team name 'WarriorsLinna', or short 'WaLi'. Finnish Rugby Federation
The Finnish Rugby Federation (SRL) ( fi, Suomen Rugbyliitto) is recognised as the national governing body for rugby in Finland. It is a member of several organisations, including World Rugby and Rugby Europe. The SRL was founded in 1968 and has as its members Finnish rugby clubs and the Finland Rugby Referees Association. SRL's mission is to develop the sport in Finland and support the local clubs in their activities. The organisation is responsible for the Men's National XV Team, Men's National Sevens Team, Women's National XV Team, Women's National Sevens Team. The SRL also administers and organises domestic rugby competitions in Finland. Interest in rugby in Finland has increased in recent years and SRL strongly believes that rugby has a future in Finland, where team and contact sports are appreciated. Touch rugby refers to games derived from rugby football in which players do not tackle each other but instead touch their opponents using their hands on any part of the body, clothing, or the ball. A formal, competitive variety, known as Touch, developed from rugby league and now exists as a sport in its own right.
