WNJE (920 AM broadcasting, AM) is a sports radio, sports talk radio station in Trenton, New Jersey. The station is owned by Townsquare Media. History This station first operated as WTTM in 1942. It was affiliated with NBC in its early years, eventually shifting to the Mutual Broadcasting System. The station carried varied programming for many years, typically airing general popular music during weekday daytime hours, with Top 40 or rhythm and blues on weeknights and blocks of ethnic programming on weekends. The basic format changed to Top 40 in the late 1970s, followed by country for much of the 1980s and talk in the 1990s. The WCHR call letters and religious format originated on WTTM's sister station at 94.5 FM in 1969 and remained there for nearly 30 years. WHWH (1350 AM) is a radio station in Princeton, New Jersey, serving Trenton, New Jersey. Established in 1963, the station is owned and operated by Multicultural Radio Broadcasting Licensee, LLC. History WHWH signed on September 7, 1963. The call letters stand for founder Herbert W. Hobler, a Princeton resident and Princeton University graduate. One of the first air personalities was Dave Moss, who moved from WKDN in Camden to become the station's first General Manager and play-by-play voice of Princeton University sports. (Station owner Hobler served as on air analyst with Moss.) All-American player Bill Bradley led the 1964–65 Princeton Tigers men's basketball team, and Tigers football back Cosmo Iacavazzi starred for the university. The games were live on WHWH. Nassau's stations, which included both AM and FM frequencies, were located in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The company was owned and headed by Louis F. Mercatanti. Nassau was predominantly an operator of radio stations in medium and small markets. Nassau formerly owned radio station WCRB in Waltham, a Boston suburb, and located in the Boston market, the 11th largest radio market in the US, according to BIA Financial Network.
