WQOM
WQOM (1060 AM) is a radio station broadcasting Catholic radio programming in the Boston market. The station is owned by Holy Family Communications and is licensed to Natick, Massachusetts. History The station first began operation November 12, 1972, as WGTR, owned by John Garabedian. It was a full service daytime station for Natick and MetroWest, programming top-40 music. WGTR originally from a small tower in a residential area of Natick. However, Garabedian had long hoped to expand WGTR into Boston itself. In 1980, he won a construction permit to move to a five-tower setup in Ashland, operating at 25,000 watts during the day. This gave it adequate coverage of most of the Boston area. Plans called for WGTR to power down to 2,500 watts at night to protect KYW in Philadelphia and WBZ in Boston; the latter station operated at adjacent 1030 AM. John Garabedian
John H. Garabedian is an American radio personality and disc jockey. He is best known as the creator and former long-time host of ''Open House Party''. He has been involved in Massachusetts radio and television stations for more than fifty years. In 2013, he was awarded "Broadcaster of the Year" for the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association, and in 2014, inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He is currently the President of Jamchannel, a syndication company that produces Liveline hosted by Mason Kelter, a live national weeknight show for Top 40 stations. Timeless was a 24-hour satellite music service of Citadel Media (through Citadel Broadcasting). It has distributed a mix of soft oldies and adult standards to radio stations around the United States. It was a combination of two former formats: gold-based adult contemporary Unforgettable Favorites (also known as "Memories") and adult standards Timeless Classics/Timeless Favorites (originally known as "Stardust"). Marlborough is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 41,793 at the 2020 census. Marlborough became a prosperous industrial town in the 19th century and made the transition to high technology industry in the late 20th century after the construction of the Massachusetts Turnpike. WEII (96.3 FM, "SportsRadio 96.3") is a radio station in Dennis, Massachusetts. The station airs a sports radio format from Boston-based WEEI-FM. It is owned by iHeartMedia. The station started life in 1981 under the call letters WGTF, operating on 93.5 FM. It moved to 96.3 in 1982 (the 93.5 frequency is now occupied by WFRQ) and changed its call letters to WXJY in 1984 and WNTX in 1988. Nantucket () is an island about south from Cape Cod. Together with the small islands of Tuckernuck and Muskeget, it constitutes the Town and County of Nantucket, a combined county/town government that is part of the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
