John Garabedian
John H. Garabedian is an American radio personality and disc jockey. He is best known as the creator and former long-time host of ''Open House Party''. He has been involved in Massachusetts radio and television stations for more than fifty years. In 2013, he was awarded "Broadcaster of the Year" for the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association, and in 2014, inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He is currently the President of Jamchannel, a syndication company that produces Liveline hosted by Mason Kelter, a live national weeknight show for Top 40 stations. Open House Party
''Open House Party'' (often referred to as "OHP") is an American radio show hosted by Kannon (Saturday) and Joe Breezy (Sunday), branded as "The Biggest Party on the Planet!", playing contemporary hit radio, contemporary hit music. From its inception in September 1987, OHP quickly became popular with its live all-request format, along with a heavy rotation of dance music and remixes that differentiated itself from most Top 40 stations or shows. John Garabedian created and hosted both Saturday and Sunday nights for nearly 30 years. The show's audience and revenue peaked from the mid 1990's to late 2000's, where it was heard on over 175 stations and became the world's most-listened-to radio program on weekend nights. WXKS-FM (107.9 FM), branded as ''Kiss 108'', is a commercial top 40/CHR radio station licensed to serve Medford, Massachusetts, and covering Greater Boston. Owned by iHeartMedia, the WXKS-FM studios are in Medford and the transmitter sits atop the Prudential Tower in Downtown Boston. WPXC (102.9 MHz, "Pixy 103") is an FM radio station broadcasting a mainstream rock format. Licensed to Hyannis, Massachusetts, the station serves the Cape Cod area with its studios located on South Street in Hyannis and its transmitter in West Barnstable. History In February 2005, Ernie Boch, Sr. sold WPXC, WTWV, WDVT, WCOD, and WXTK to Qantum Communications. Due to the FCC's rules on ownership caps, Qantum had to put WTWV, WDVT, and WPXC up for a pending sale.
