WAWR (93.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Christian worship format airing programming from the nationally syndicated Air 1 feed. History The station signed on the air on December 1, 1982, and ran as an adult contemporary station as WIBQ (B-93.5) until 1992 when it switched format and callsign to WKDY to become "Hot Country KDY 93.5". KDY Country stayed on 93.5 until a frequency swap took place in 1993 between WKDY and oldies-formatted WUUU. WUUU then became "Oldies 93.5". More than a year later, Norma Eilenberg changed WUUU's format to easy listening and became "Warm 93.5" . In 1996, "Warm 93.5" switched its callsign to WRFM. The station is currently owned by the Educational Media Foundation, and is an affiliate of the '' K-Love'' network. History WKVU signed on in 2001 on 100.7 FM, when Bethany Broadcasting sold its religious station broadcasting on that frequency, WVVC, to the Educational Media Foundation. WARW is a Christian worship formatted radio station, licensed to Port Chester, New York and is the Air 1 radio affiliate for Westchester County, New York and the Connecticut Panhandle. The station is currently owned by Educational Media Foundation and its transmitter is located in New Rochelle, New York. History WARW went on the air in 1947 as WSTC-FM licensed to Stamford, Connecticut and simulcasting WSTC. On February 19, 1974, the call letters were changed to WYRS and the station began programming an automated beautiful music format aimed at women using the moniker "Yours 96.7". At 6:00 p.m. on September 2, 1980 WYRS switched to a jazz format after WRVR in New York City had switched formats from jazz to country music. God's Country Radio Network was a Religious broadcasting radio network in the United States which launched in 2008. The majority of stations that the network aired on were owned by the non-profit organization Educational Media Foundation, though it also aired on some independent stations. God's Country Radio Network played a blend of Southern Gospel and Positive Country music. In November 2010, God's Country Radio Network left the air because it "didn't connect with enough listeners to sustain the expenses of the broadcast". It relaunched in January 2011 as a web-based only broadcaster, which has since shut down also. Galaxy Media (formerly Galaxy Communications) is a radio broadcasting company with radio stations entirely in the Central New York area. History Ed Levine, current president, attended the Newhouse School at Syracuse University where his love for radio began. After serving as program director for the college radio station, Levine and two classmates started Syracuse’s first live FM radio station in 1978. In 1989, the first Galaxy station, WKLL was launched by the current CEO, Ed Levine, and his business partner, Bob Raide. WKLL was named for Ed and wife Pam’s then-19-month-old daughter Lauren. In the 1990s, Galaxy launched additional stations in Syracuse and Utica. In 2001, the headquarters was moved from Bridgeport to a new building in Armory Square, located in downtown Syracuse. Remsen is a town in Oneida County, New York, United States. The population was 1,929 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Henry Remsen, an early settler. The Town of Remsen contains a village also named Remsen. The town is north of the city of Utica. History Remsen was named for Henry Remsen II, the original proprietor of the township and the inheritor of the Remsenburgh patent, which embraced some in Oneida and Herkimer counties and was granted in 1766 (later regranted by the Legislature in 1787) to Remsen and four other New York merchants.
