Vià
Vià (stylised as vià) is a French television network. It started as a southern regional network in 2010, before going national in 2018, and subsequently contracting again due to economic problems. History Origins When its national network Antennes Locales did not take off, Paris-based sold off its television stations to various regional investors. In 2009 TéléMiroir, based in the southern city of Nîmes, was sold to Christophe Musset and his associate Pierre-Paul Castelli, who had previously partnered with GHM in free print publications. In 2010, Musset founded an umbrella company called Médias du Sud (), and acquired more stations in the southern cities of Montpellier, Perpignan, and Marseille (the latter went off the air in 2016). Consequently, Musset's stations adopted the common branding TVSud (), followed by the name of their specific submarket. BFM Régions is a French network of local news television channels, property of Altice. It is partially modeled after the American News 12 Networks, which Altice also owns through its 2016 purchase of Cablevision. The network is part of the BFM family of news and financial media properties. Vià Occitanie is a French television channel, part of the ''Vià'' network, operating in the Occitanie region of southern France. Formerly known from 2011 until 2017 as TVSud, the channel provides local programming for the cities of southern France. History TVSud was launched on February 7, 2011, with programming each day from 7am to 11pm. The station changed its name to Vià Occitanie on 28 September 2017. Antennes Locales (later Cap Télé Groupe) was a French television network established in 2002 and closed in 2011. It aimed to become the country's first private national network by aggregating local stations, either pre-existing or created for the country's then-new digital terrestrial television service (DTT). It eventually succumbed to a combination of low revenue and undercapitalization at parent company Groupe Hersant Média.
