Viceversa (Francesco Gabbani Album)
''Viceversa'' is the fourth studio album by Italian singer-songwriter Francesco Gabbani. It was released on 14 February 2020 through BMG Rights Management. It was preceded by the singles "È un'altra cosa" and the title track " Viceversa", which was Gabbani's entry into the 70th edition of Italy's national Eurovision song selection competition, the Sanremo Music Festival 2020, where he placed second to Diodato's "Fai rumore". Background and writing Gabbani stated that the album was written about what interested him after the success of " Occidentali's Karma". The album was called a "nine-track journey" that "leaves the listener free to decipher the lyrics and question their balance within society". Gabbani wrote the title track "Viceversa" about his girlfriend, Giulia, but said the track was intended as a song about "universal love", or love regardless of gender. Francesco Gabbani (born 9 September 1982) is an Italian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He rose to fame after winning the newcomers' section of the Sanremo Music Festival 2016 with the song "Amen". The next year, he went on to win the main section of the Sanremo Music Festival 2017 with the song " Occidentali's Karma", and represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 finishing in 6th place. Fabio Ilacqua (born 8 October 1975) is an Italian lyricist, composer, arranger, record producer and singer-songwriter. Life and career Born in Varese to a Sicilian father and a Calabrian mother, Ilacqua studied at the Brera Academy in Milan. Luigi (Gino) De Crescenzo (born 5 March 1964), best known as Pacifico, is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer and musician. Background Born in Milan, the son of a Neapolitan father and mother from Salerno, at 16 years old De Crescenzo formed his first band, "La Goccia". After graduating in political science and various experiences through rock, jazz, and fusion, in 1989 he formed together with Luca Gemma "Rossomaltese", a group in whom De Crescenzo was composer and guitarist. After the group disbanded he collaborated with the director Roberta Torre, composing the score of the film ''South Side Story'' and the incidental music for the play ''Invece che all’una alle due''.
