Julius Vorster (29 April 1809, Hamm – 10 October 1876, Cologne) was a German entrepreneur, one of the founders of Chemische Fabrik Kalk, a major German chemical enterprise in Cologne. Life Frederick Julius Vorster was the son of Johannes Vorster (1758 - 1853) and Anna Marie Eleonore Proebsting (1777 - 1826). After a commercial apprenticeship, he opened a chemical business in Cologne. The business thrived, and Voster entered into a partnership with Harhaus, renaming the business Vorster and Harhaus. On 1 November 1858 Vorster and chemist Hermann Julius Grüneberg, who was a doctoral student at that time, founded Chemische Fabrik Kalk. Chemische Fabrik Kalk (CFK) (lit. Chemical Factory Kalk) was a Germany, German chemicals company based in Kalk (Cologne district), Kalk, a city district of Cologne. The company was founded in 1858 as ''Chemische Fabrik Vorster & Grüneberg, Cöln'' by Julius Vorster and Hermann Julius Grüneberg and was renamed to Chemische Fabrik Kalk GmbH in 1892. Louis Vorster (2 November 1966 – 17 April 2012) was a South African-Namibian cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off-break bowler. He was born in Potchefstroom. Vorster made his cricketing debut for Albatross cricket club on 1 July 1983, in a victory against the Sussex Second XI at Glynde. Vorster scored a duck in this first innings though the team were to create a victory with just one over to spare. Vorster's first-class debut came in the 1985/86 Castle Bowl tournament, playing for Transvaal B against Eastern Province, and played in the Castle Currie Cup in the 1986/87 season. Pankraz Vorster (31 July 1753 – 9 September 1829) was a Swiss abbot. He served as the last abbot of the Abbey of Saint Gall, from 1796 to 1805. Early life Pankraz Vorster was born in Naples to an old family from Fürstenland. He was the son of Captain Joseph Zacharias Vorster and Countess Anna Maria Rosa Berni. He was raised mainly by his uncle, who was a pastor in Grub and Wittenbach. In 1771, he completed his studies in St. Gallen. He taught Philosophy, Science and Theology at a school.
