Voldsløkka Stadion
Voldsløkka Stadion is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. History It was the home ground of Oslo football team Skeid, and was used for Premier League matches in 1999. However, in 2007 it did not meet the requirements of First Division (second tier of Norwegian football) matches, so Skeid elected to play their home games at Bislett Stadion. Instead in 2007 Voldsløkka Stadion hosted matches of the Vålerenga B team, who resided in the Second Division (third tier). It has later been used by Oslo City FC. It has also been the temporary home ground of the American football team Oslo Vikings. The area was closed as a football stadium in 2007, and Skeid moved to Nordre Åsen. In 2018 a new facility opened for field hockey and bandy, to be used by Sagene IF. The stadium hosted matches of the 2020 Women's Bandy World Championship. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Åsen, Oslo
Åsen is a neighborhood divided between the boroughs of Sagene and Nordre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The neighbourhood is named after the old farm Åsen ( Norse ''Ósin'', from originally ''*Ásvin''). The first element is ''áss'' m 'mountain ridge' (here referring to Grefsenåsen), the last element is ''vin'' f 'meadow'. The name is often misunderstood as ''åsen'', the finite form of ''ås'' (the modern Norwegian form of ''áss''), and is then wrongly pronounced with '' accent 1'' - but the correct pronunciation is with ''accent 2''. Åsen farm was owned by the Catholic Church until the Reformation, when it came on private hands. It was split in three in 1810. An ice resurfacer is a vehicle or hand-pushed device used to clean and smooth the surface of a sheet of ice, usually in an ice rink. The first ice resurfacer was developed by American inventor and engineer Frank Zamboni in 1949 in the city of Paramount, California. As such, an ice resurfacer is often referred to as a "Zamboni" as a genericized trademark. Zamboni created a plant for making ice blocks that could be used in refrigeration applications. Sagene is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. The area became part of the city of Oslo (then Christiania) in 1859. The name Sagene itself is the plural of the Norwegian word for "saw", reflecting all the old industrial mechanical saws powered by the river Akerselva in this area in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. Oslo Vikings is an American football club located in Oslo, Norway, that competes in the Eliteserien of the Norges Amerikanske Idretters Forbund, and the European Federation of American Football tournaments.
