Vladimir Kunin
Vladimir Vladimirovich Kunin (Владимир Владимирович Кунин) (actually Vladimir Feinberg, June 19, 1927, Leningrad - 4 February 2011, Munich) was a Russian writer, playwright and screenwriter. Kunin was a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, the Union of Writers of Russia (Союз писателей России) as well as an honorary member of the International association of writers and publicists (Международная ассоциация писателей и публицистов). One of his books, ''Intergirl'' (Интердевочка), first published in 1988, was adapted to become a highly popular Soviet movie in 1989 (see Intergirl). The Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation ( ru , Союз кинематографистов России) is the trade union of cinematographers, actors, and other professionals of Russian cinema. Founded in 1991, it was preceded by the Guild of Actors of Soviet Cinema in 1988, which became the Russian Film Actors Guild. Intergirl
''Intergirl'' (russian: Интердевочка, translit. ''Interdevochka'') is a 1989 Soviet drama film. It is set in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) in the time of perestroika during the 1980s. The film was the most popular Soviet film in 1989 (41.3 million viewers) and made a star of leading actress Elena Yakovleva. It is the screen adaptation of the eponymous story by Vladimir Kunin. Plot Tanya Zaitseva from Leningrad, a nurse by day and a prostitute catering to foreigners by night, suddenly receives a marriage proposal from a Swedish client. After another altercation with the police, she goes home to share good news with her mother, who thinks that her daughter is just a nurse. Tanya does not hide the fact that she is not marrying for love, but because she wants to have an apartment, a car, money and dreams "to see the world with my own eyes."
