The Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation ( ru , Союз кинематографистов России) is the trade union of cinematographers, actors, and other professionals of Russian cinema. Founded in 1991, it was preceded by the Guild of Actors of Soviet Cinema in 1988, which became the Russian Film Actors Guild. History In 1988 the Guild of Actors of Soviet Cinema was formed, headed by Evgeny Zharikov. Founder Drapeko Elena Grigoryevna (born 1948) was vice-president. In 1991 this was renamed the Russian Film Actors Guild. The Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation was founded on 28 February 1990. The organization charter was adopted on 30 November 1991. It manages the Central House of Cinema in Moscow. Sergei Zhigunov was president of the Russian Film Actors Guild, possibly from 2000 to 2005. The cinematographer or director of photography (sometimes shortened to DP or DOP) is the person responsible for the photographing or recording of a film, television production, music video or other live action piece. The cinema of Russia began in the Russian Empire, widely developed in the Soviet Union and in the years following its dissolution, the Russian film industry would remain internationally recognized. Evgeny Zharikov
Evgeny Ilyich "Zhenya" Zharikov (''Russian:'' Евгений Ильич Жариков; 26 February 1941 — 18 January 2012), also spelt Yevgeniy Ilich Zharikov and variants, was a Soviet and Russian film actor. He was awarded the USSR State Prize in 1978, and the title People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1989. Early life and education Evgeny Ilyich Zharikov was born on February 26, 1941 in Moscow as the sixth and last child of the Soviet writer Leonid Zharikov (Ilya Milahievich Zharikov). He had a sister called Nina. He spent his childhood in the Moscow suburbs, near Zagorsk (now Sergiev Posad), with his grandparents, and from the age of four rode horses and mastered crafts. Central House of Cinema (''CDK'') is a movie theater in Moscow, Russia, established in 1934 and currently managed by the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. CDK is a venue for film premieres, as well as open talks, artistic encounters, conferences, etc. History Construction In 1908, an Alexeevsky people’s house was opened on the site of the modern CDK. It was intended as a cultural complex for the workers, sponsored and managed by the Moscow Temperance Society. Muscovites and their family members went there to watch theater shows, open readings, art and physical classes. After the revolution, the building was given to the Soviet administration for offices. The Russian Guild of Film Critics (russian: Гильдия киноведов и кинокритиков России) is a Russian organization of professional film critics, headquartered in Moscow.
