Vitja (band)
Vitja was a German metalcore band with members from Münster and Cologne, formed in 2013. Vitja is Russian for Viktor, which means winner, but according to the band, the sound and aesthetics of the word were key to the naming. The band later disbanded in 2022. Biography The group was formed in 2013 by former musicians from the bands ''Disposed to Mirth'', ''Shake the Pagoda Tree'', ''Progress Utopia'' and ''Myterror''. The group quickly got a recording contract with Redfield Records, which resulted in the debut album ''Echoes'' was released. Vitja played in August 2013 as a substitute for Silent Screams on the ''For Those About to Mosh Tour'' with Martyr Defiled. In July and August 2014, Vitja toured several places in Europe supporting Texas in July and Iwrestledabearonce. The festival had been held in Abtsgmünd until 2006 when it was moved to its new location of Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria. The festival draws around 40,000 attendees annually. "Rock Hard" is a single by the Beastie Boys, released by Def Jam Records on 12" in 1984. The track contains samples from the AC/DC song "Back in Black", which was used without obtaining legal permission, causing the record to be withdrawn. Later, when the group planned to include the out-of-print song on their 1999 compilation, '' Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science'', AC/DC refused to allow the sample to be used. Veil of Maya is an American metalcore band, formed in Chicago, Illinois, by members Marc Okubo and Sam Applebaum in 2004. They are currently signed to Sumerian Records and have released six studio albums. Their first four albums are considered to be deathcore, but their fifth album, ''Matriarch'', is considered to be metalcore. They have also been associated with djent. ''Ox-Fanzine'' is a monthly punk zine from Solingen, Germany, founded in 1988. It is edited by Joachim Hiller and has had many contributors. Besides its focus on punk subculture, it also covers similar genres, reviews of comics, books and films, and has included serial novels by authors such as Klaus N. Frick. By 2019, ''Ox'' had a circulation of 10,000 copies. History ''Ox-Fanzine'' was founded in 1988 by Joachim Hiller and Biggi Häußler in Heidenheim an der Brenz (Southern Germany). Its first issue was published in January 1989. The zine was named after the cat of Häußler, which appeared on the first cover. It was discovered on 25 May 1924, by Soviet–Russian astronomer Vladimir Albitsky at the Simeiz Observatory on the Crimean peninsula. The asteroid was named in honor of Viktor Zaslavskij (1925–1944), a relative of the discoverer.
