Visual Arts Brampton
Visual Arts Brampton is a non-profit community art group located in Brampton, Ontario formed in 1986 to organize the arts community, providing workshops, and exhibits, among other things. The group moved to its current studio in 1991. The first juried show, under the guise of Brampton Arts Council, featured 68 artworks judged by Pamela Wachna, curator of Toronto's Market Gallery. Galleries Visual Arts Brampton runs The Artway Family of Galleries, which includes Artway Gallery (established in 1998) and the Artway Invitational Gallery (established 2010), all in Shoppers World Brampton. Artway was previously in Bramalea City Centre. The Chinguacousy branch of the Brampton Library had a gallery space, opened when the facility first did in 1971. Shoppers World Brampton
Shoppers World Brampton is a shopping mall in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. It is host to over 190 stores, including Canadian Tire, Winners and Staples. History In 1961, Elder Mines & Development Ltd. and Peel Village Developments created Shoppers World Danforth. Targeted completion date was March 1962. The two developers merged into a new company, Peel-Elder Limited, and began development of Shopper's World Brampton on a farmer's field that had been purchased by Charles F. Watson of Peel-Elder Ltd. Peel-Elder Ltd. was also the developer of the Brampton's Peel Village community. In 1961, planned tenants were Loblaws, Zellers, Yolles, Bata Shoe, a Maher shoe store, Lady Ellis dress shop, Bi-Rite Drugs, Tip Top Tailors and banks. Brampton Library
The Brampton Library is a system of public libraries in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. In the 2003 Ontario Public Library Week (October 20 to 26), the library was rebranded with a new logo, and a change in name from the Brampton Public Library to the simpler and more direct Brampton Library had taken place. The library currently has eight branches, with a collection of more than 562,000 books, magazines, large print materials, audio books, and DVDs. It has a staff of 160 full-time and part-time employees. Brampton Library services a population of just under 600,000 people spanning over more than 200 distinct ethnicities. Art Gallery Of Peel
The Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is a museum, art gallery, and archives for the Regional Municipality of Peel and are located in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Previously, it was the Peel Heritage Complex. Its facilities were originally the Peel County Courthouse, Brampton Jail (also known as the Peel County Gaol), a land registry office, and a county administration building. It is opposite Gage Park and Brampton City Hall. In March 2010, the Peel Heritage Complex closed for extensive renovations and expansion. The spaces reopened in 2012, with significantly larger and include more public space. It was originally scheduled to reopen in fall 2011. The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), also known as The Exhibition or The Ex, is an annual event that takes place at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on the third Friday of August leading up to and including Canadian Labour Day, the first Monday in September.
