Viper (rapper)
Lee Arthur Carter (born October 7, 1971), known professionally by his stage name Viper, is an American rapper, record producer and actor. Carter has been producing music since childhood, but he received widespread attention online for his 2008 album, '' You'll Cowards Don't Even Smoke Crack''. The prolific nature of his work, together with his commitment to self production, has garnered him a cult following as an outsider artist, with comparisons drawn to rapper Lil B and musician Wesley Willis. He is also regarded as one of the originators of cloud rap. Biography Early life Carter was born in El Dorado, Arkansas. He began playing the piano at the age of five. Nestor Gregory Carter, professionally known as Greg Carter, is a filmmaker from Texas who has produced more than nineteen feature films and documentaries, nine of which he directed and six he wrote. He is a native of Houston. Carter has been inducted into the Texas Filmmakers' Hall of Fame in 2006, in recognition of his film and community contributions. Hiram Clarke is an area in Houston, Texas, United States, southwest of NRG Park (formerly Reliant Park). History Hiram Clarke Road was named after Hiram Clarke, a Houston Lighting & Power Co. assistant general manager and executive vice president. Wesley Lawrence Willis (May 31, 1963 – August 21, 2003) was an American musician and visual artist. Diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1989, Willis began a career as an underground singer-songwriter in the outsider music tradition. Willis' songs are typically partially spoken in an MC style, and partially sung in a nasal and out-of-tune manner reminiscent of punk rock vocals. They feature bizarre, humorous and sometimes obscene or absurd lyrics sung over backing created by using the auto accompaniment feature on his Technics KN keyboard. His songs cover a wide variety of topics, with mental illness and consumerism being the most prominent themes.
