Trehøje Municipality
Trehøje was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Ringkjøbing County on the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 296 km2, and had a total population of 9,929 (2005). Its mayor was Svend Blæsbjerg, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Vildbjerg. Neighboring municipalities were Herning and Aulum-Haderup to the east, Holstebro to the north, Ulfborg-Vemb and Ringkøbing to the west, and Videbæk to the south. By January 1, 2007, Trehøje municipality ceased to exist, as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It merged with the existing Aulum-Haderup, Herning, and Aaskov municipalities to form the new Herning municipality. Gudmund Hatt
Professor Aage Gudmund Hatt (1 October 1884 – 27 January 1960) was a Danish archaeologist and cultural geographer. He was a professor of cultural geography at the University of Copenhagen from 1929 through 1947. Also an ethnologist, he was the first person to systematically inventory cultural similarities and differences amongst northern peoples. Early years Hatt was born in Vildbjerg - before 2007 in Trehøje Municipality, from 2007 in Herning Municipality - Denmark, and studied there through 1904. His father was the local teacher. In 1905, he went to the United States and lived among the Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma for a year, which led him to study ethnography at Harvard University from 1906 to 1907. Returned to Denmark, he lectured on Native Americans in the United States and their former way of living, and began his studies under Hans Peder Steensby, ethnographer and professor of geography at the University of Copenhagen. Henrik Risom
Henrik Risom (born 24 July 1968) is a former Danish footballer who played as a midfielder for Vejle, Lyngby, Dynamo Dresden, Odense, Silkeborg IF, Stoke City and Aarhus GF. Career Risom was born in Vildbjerg and began his senior career with Vejle. After four years at Vejle where he played over 100 games he moved on to Lyngby. Three years there then saw him spend one and a half season spell with German side Dynamo Dresden where he played in 15 Bundesliga matches. He returned to Danish football with Odense and Silkeborg IF and had two more years with Vejle. He joined English club Stoke City in August 2000 and joined up with a number of Scandinavian players. The folkeskole ( en, people's school) is a type of school in Denmark covering the entire period of compulsory education, from the age of 6 to 16, encompassing pre-school, primary and lower secondary education. Vildbjerg station is a railway station serving the railway town of Vildbjerg in Jutland, Denmark. Vildbjerg station is located on the Vejle-Holstebro railway line. The station was opened in 1904 with the opening of the Herning-Holstebro section of the Vejle-Holstebro Line. Central Denmark Region
The Central Denmark Region ( da, Region Midtjylland), or more directly translated as the Central Jutland Region and sometimes simply Mid Jutland, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform. The reform abolished the traditional counties (''amter'') and replaced them with five new administrative regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the total number of municipalities from 271 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favour of the local level and the national government in Copenhagen. The Central Denmark Region comprises 19 municipalities. A railway town, or railroad town, is a settlement that originated or was greatly developed because of a railway station or junction at its site.
