Viktor Axelsen
Viktor Axelsen (born 4 January 1994) is a Danish badminton player. He is the 2017 and 2022 World champion and the 2020 Olympic champion. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European singles player to hold the title. Axelsen is a three-time European champion, having won the title in 2016, 2018 and 2022. Early life Axelsen was born in Odense, and at six years old, his father introduced him to badminton, playing the games at the Odense badminton club. He lived with his father after his parents divorced, and then lived alone in Copenhagen at the age of 17 and joined the national team. His father Henrik Axelsen ran a small advertising agency for a number of years, but now works full time as a manager for his son, and his mother Gitte Lundager has a shop in central Odense with a hairdressing salon, cosmetics and fashion clothing. The 2018 Indonesia Masters, officially the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2018, was a badminton tournament which took place at Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 23 to 28 January 2018 and had a total prize of US$350,000. Tournament The 2018 Indonesia Masters was the third tournament of the 2018 BWF World Tour and also part of the Indonesia Masters championships which had been held since 2010. This tournament was organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia with sanction from the Badminton World Federation, BWF. 2013 Sudirman Cup
The 2013 Sudirman Cup was the thirteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. It was held from May 19–26, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) 31 teams have confirmed their participation, for the second time, twelve teams competed in the elite group to battle for the title. Host city selection Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne submitted bids for 2013 Sudirman Cup. On 9 December 2011, Badminton World Federation awarded the championships to Kuala Lumpur after Melbourne withdrew its bid and making Kuala Lumpur as the sole candidate. The European Badminton Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton Europe (BE). The first of these competitions was held in 1968. The competition was held once every two years to determine the best badminton players in Europe. European Mixed Team Badminton Championships usually started prior to the individual championships until it was split in 2009. From 2017 on the European badminton championship is held annually except for the year with European Games. Since 2008, it is being graded as a Grand Prix Gold tournament by the Badminton World Federation. The 2022 Thomas & Uber Cup (officially known as the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2022 for sponsorship reasons) is the 32nd edition of the Thomas Cup and the 29th edition of the Uber Cup, the biennial international badminton championship contested by the men and women's national teams of the member associations of Badminton World Federation (BWF).
