Vikingarna Speedway
Vikingarna () are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based at the Örebro Motorstadion, 9 km west of Örebro, near Örebro Airport in Sweden. Season summary History 1950 to 1954 The beginning of competitive league speedway in Örebro can be traced back to the 1950 Swedish speedway season. A club called Vikingarna finished last out of four teams in the second division. However, the following season in 1951, was much improved to the degree that the team actually won the six team division. The team competed in the highest tier for the first time during the 1952 Swedish speedway season (called division 1 at the time) but struggled in the division and were eventually relegated. A young Göte Nordin rode for the club from 1952 to 1954 and he helped them win division 2 again in 1953. The 1961 Swedish speedway season was the 1961 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1961 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 22 September in Stockholm. Björn Knutson won the Swedish Championship. Swedish Junior Championship Winner - Willihard Thomsson Team Team Championship Vargarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the sixth time. The Vargarna team contained Björn Knutson, Joel Jansson, Sören Sjösten and Per-Tage Svensson. With 14 teams lining up for the 1961 season the second division was split into a north and south competition. Folkare won the second division north and Kaparna B won the second division south. Älgarna changed their name to Gävle. Ludvig Lindgren
Ludvig Lindgren (born 23 September 1990 in Örebro, Sweden) is a motorcycle speedway rider. Career Lindgren won the 2008 Team U-19 European Champion title. He was a member of Sweden U-21 and U-19 national teams. His brother Fredrik also rides. His father Tommy rode speedway and ice speedway.Oakes, P.(2005). ''British Speedway Who's Who''. Robert Eriksson (speedway Rider)
Robert Karl Eriksson (born 23 February 1974) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career Eriksson started his career riding for Buddys during the 1991 Swedish speedway season but switched to Valsarna the following year and would spend five seasons with them. During the 1995 Swedish speedway season he became the Swedish U21 Champion. His first British league experience came during the 1995 Premier League speedway season, when he rode for Edinburgh Monarchs. He spent three seasons with the Scottish club (one of them when the team was renamed the Scottish Monarchs). He rode for Indianerna Indianerna (the Indians) are a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Kumla, Sweden. Freddie Lindgren
Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has twice won the bronze medal at the Speedway World Championship and won the world team championships in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Lindgren's father Tommy was a speedway rider before him, and his younger brother Ludvig also rides. Lindgren first appeared for Wolverhampton Wolves during the 2003 season as the team struggled with injuries. At the age of just 17, Freddie made his debut for the team and impressed enough to be brought back the following season when again injuries hit the club. In 2005, he moved over to full-time and averaged 7.44 for Wolves in his debut full season and in 2006 he improved to average 8.12. Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") ( sv, Elitserien i speedway) is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top 7 Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Individual Individual Championship The 1967 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held on 10 October in Gothenburg. Ove Fundin won the Swedish Championship for the seventh time. Junior Championship Winner - Christer Löfqvist Team Team Championship For the fifth consecutive season Getingarna won division 1 and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship. Despite Arne Carlsson retiring and losing Leif Larsson for the season the Getingarna team recruited well by gaining Anders Michanek and Leif Enecrona to support Göte Nordin and Bengt Jansson.
