Viking FK Kvinner ( en, Viking FK Women) is the women's team of Norwegian football club Viking FK. Based in Stavanger, it plays in the Norwegian Second Division, the third tier of women's football in Norway. Founded in 2011, the team first entered the league system ahead of the 2015 season. The current head coach is Helge Aune. History The team was founded in 2011. In 2015, it entered the league system, participating in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of Norwegian women's football. In the 2016 season, the team cooperated with neighbouring Hinna, whose first team was in the 2. divisjon at the time. The cooperation lasted only for one season, before Viking restarted their operations. The 2017 season resulted in a second place finish in the 3. divisjon, two points behind Staal Jørpeland. Viking Stadion
Viking Stadion (currently named SR-Bank Arena for sponsorship purposes), is a football stadium in Stavanger, Norway. It was inaugurated in May 2004 and cost 160 million NOK (€20 million) to build. 50 million NOK, plus the lot it was built on, was a gift from the municipality. It replaced Stavanger Stadion as the home stadium of Viking FK. In 2006, the stadium was expanded beyond the original capacity of 15,300 to 16,600. The capacity was later reduced to 16,300 in 2012 to make room for two giant screens. From 2018 the capacity is again reduced to 15,900. Originally an all-seater stadium, parts of the west stand have been converted to safe standing in recent years. The record attendance is 16,600 from 24 June 2007, when Viking met Brann. Jåttåvågen railway station, which serves the Jæren Commuter Rail, is located right outside the stadium. Avaldsnes IL
Avaldsnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Avaldsnes, Karmøy, Rogaland. It was founded on 16 June 1937. The club has sections for football and handball. Women's football The women's team began play in 1989, winning the 1st Division of West Norway in 1997, before the team was dissolved in 1999 and then resurrected in 2002. The women's football team currently plays in the Toppserien, the first tier of Norwegian women's football, after promotion from the First Division in 2012, becoming the first club from Karmøy to play in the top league of any sport in Norway. They reached the final of the Norwegian Women's Cup in 2013 and 2015 but lost in the final both times. The footballer Cecilie Pedersen has previously represented Norway while playing for Avaldsnes. Gry Tofte Ims
Gry Tofte Ims (born 2 March 1986) is a former Norwegian footballer. She has played for Klepp IL since 2003 and was named captain of the team at the end of 2008 after the retirement of Ane Stangeland Horpestad. Norwegian Football Federation
The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football (soccer), football in Norway.
