Avaldsnes IL
Avaldsnes Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Avaldsnes, Karmøy, Rogaland. It was founded on 16 June 1937. The club has sections for football and handball. Women's football The women's team began play in 1989, winning the 1st Division of West Norway in 1997, before the team was dissolved in 1999 and then resurrected in 2002. The women's football team currently plays in the Toppserien, the first tier of Norwegian women's football, after promotion from the First Division in 2012, becoming the first club from Karmøy to play in the top league of any sport in Norway. They reached the final of the Norwegian Women's Cup in 2013 and 2015 but lost in the final both times. The footballer Cecilie Pedersen has previously represented Norway while playing for Avaldsnes. They finished the 2015 season in second place, their highest finish in the Toppserien to date, and qualified to the 2016–17 UEFA Women's Champions League. Women's football squad Former ...

John Arne Riise
John Arne Semundseth Riise (born 24 September 1980) is a Norwegian professional football manager and former player who played as a left back and a left midfielder. He is currently the manager of Toppserien club Avaldsnes. With 110 caps, Riise is the most capped player for the Norway national team. He was named in the Norway squad for UEFA Euro 2000 but did not play in the tournament. Riise scored 16 goals before his retirement from international duty in 2013. He spent seven years playing for Premier League side Liverpool, in which he won many honours, including the 2004–05 UEFA Champions League, before moving to Roma in 2008. Sydney Blomquist (born August 31, 1993) is an American professional soccer player from Bel Air, Maryland. She plays for Avaldsnes IL in the Norwegian Toppserien League. Early life Blomquist was born on August 31, 1993, in Baltimore, Maryland to Joel and Nancy Blomquist. Blomquist played her high school soccer at Fallston High School, where she was a 4-year varsity starter. As a Senior, she was team captain and named Second Team All-State, First Team All-County, and First Team All-Upper Chesapeake Bay. During her junior season her team won 2A state championship, and during her sophomore season they were 3A State finalist. Saint Sunniva (10th century; Old Norse ''Sunnifa'', from Old English ''Sunngifu'') is the patron saint of the Norwegian Church of Norway Diocese of Bjørgvin, as well as all of Western Norway. Sunniva was venerated alongside her brother Alban, who in Norwegian tradition was identified with Saint Alban, the Roman-era British saint. Legend ''Acta sanctorum in Selio'' is a Latin hagiography of saints Alban and Sunniva and their companions. It is believed to have been composed shortly after 1170. Oddr Snorrason made use of it in his ''Óláfs saga Tryggvasonar'', in a section known as ''Albani þáttr ok Sunnifu'' ("tale of Alban and Sunniva") and also as ''Seljumanna þáttr''.
