Vietnamese People In Russia
Vietnamese people in Russia form the 72nd-largest ethnic minority community in Russia according to the 2002 census. With a population of 26,205, they are one of the smaller groups of overseas Vietnamese. Unofficial estimates put their population as high as 100,000 to 150,000. However, the real number of Vietnamese in Russia is often hard to analyze, due to large number of illegal Vietnamese immigrants living underground across Russia and due to the nature of the Vietnamese–Russian relations. Most Vietnamese people in Russia have backgrounds as workers and political students being sent by North Vietnam during the Soviet Union, although the first Vietnamese immigrants happened to be the early students-turned war soldiers serving the Soviet Army during the World War II, and are petty entrepreneurs in the retail industry; with Russia's 2007 reform of rules for retail markets, which put restrictions on the proportion of immigrant-owned shops and require Russian-language proficiency ... Malgobek
Malgobek (russian: Малгобе́к; Ingush: , ''Maghalbike'') is a town in the Republic of Ingushetia, Russia, located northwest of the republic's capital of Magas. Population: History In 1934, the '' selo'' of Voznesenskoye was granted work settlement status. It served then recently discovered oilfields, on the territory of former Ingush villages of Malgobek-Balka () and Chechen-Balka (). Town status was granted to it in 1939. During World War II, Malgobek was occupied by the German forces from Saturday, September 12, 1942 to January 3, 1943, when it was recaptured by the Red Army. Ingush People
The Ingush (, inh, ГIалгIай, translit=Ghalghaj, pronounced ) per Oxford dictionary "a member of a people living mainly in Ingushetia in the central Caucasus." Ingushetia is a federal republic of Russian Federation. The Ingush are predominantly Sunni Muslims and speak the Ingush language. According to 19th-century scientist Semen Bronevski the Ingush are known as Kisti, Ghalgha, Ingushi and they use the names interchangeably. Ho Chi Minh Monument (Moscow)
The Ho Chi Minh monument in Moscow (Russian: памятник Хо Ши Мину) at Ho Chi Minh Square in Akademichesky District memorializes North Vietnamese president Ho Chi Minh, who was Chairman and founder of the Workers' Party of Vietnam. The monument was inaugurated on May 18, 1990, on the eve of Ho Chi Minh's 100th birthday. Description The monument is made of bronze and stone, with a portrait of Ho Chi Minh embossed on a giant disc. Below the disc is a sculpture of a Vietnamese man rising from his knees. Behind the disc are images of tropical flowers and two curved bamboos.
