Victoria Civera
Victoria Civera Redondo (born 1955) is a Spanish artist. She combines photography, painting, installation and sculpture in her contemporary works. She lives between New York City and Saro in Cantabria, Spain. Her work has been shown internationally, including in the United States, Belgium, France and Brazil. Biography Victoria Civera Redondo was born in 1955 in Puerto de Sagunto in Valencia, Spain. Civera studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia, between 1973 and 1977. She is married to artist Juan Uslé, whom she has occasionally worked together with. Together they have a daughter, Vicky Uslé (born 1981) who is also a painter. The Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia (Spanish for ''Saint Charles Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Valencia'') has been a Spanish Art school in Valencia since 1768. History The institution is deemed to be the follow-on institution of the Academia de Bellas Artes de Santa Bárbara, which was closed in 1759. The institution was founded under the name ''Real Academia de las Tres Nobles Artes de San Carlos'' (''Royal Academy of the three Noble Arts of Saint Charles'') by decret of Charles III from February 14, 1768, according to the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. The so-called "three noble arts" were painting, sculpture and architecture. Juan Uslé
Juan Uslé Oceja (born 1954) is a Spanish contemporary painter. His work varies between abstraction and figurative representation. In 2002, he received the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas, a national arts prize awarded by the Ministerio de Cultura of Spain. He works both in New York City and in Saro in Cantabria. Early life and education Uslé was born on December 19, 1954 in Santander, Cantabria in northern Spain. He studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia, in Valencia in eastern Spain, between 1973 to 1977. Uslé is married to artist Victoria Civera, who he has occasionally collaborated with in work. Together they have a daughter, Vicky Uslé (born 1981) who is also a painter. Uslé moved to New York City with his family in the 1987. He lives between New York City and Saro, Cantabria.
