Juan Uslé
Juan Uslé Oceja (born 1954) is a Spanish contemporary painter. His work varies between abstraction and figurative representation. In 2002, he received the Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas, a national arts prize awarded by the Ministerio de Cultura of Spain. He works both in New York City and in Saro in Cantabria. Early life and education Uslé was born on December 19, 1954 in Santander, Cantabria in northern Spain. He studied at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia, in Valencia in eastern Spain, between 1973 to 1977. Uslé is married to artist Victoria Civera, who he has occasionally collaborated with in work. Together they have a daughter, Vicky Uslé (born 1981) who is also a painter. Uslé moved to New York City with his family in the 1987. He lives between New York City and Saro, Cantabria. Santander, Cantabria
Santander () is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. It is a port city located east of Gijón and west of Bilbao with a population of 172,000 (2017). It is believed to have been a port since ancient times, due to its favorable location, and is documented as far back as the 11th century. Much of the medieval city was lost in the Great Fire of 1941. Ibiza
Ibiza (natively and officially in ca, Eivissa, ) is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is from the city of Valencia. Mallorca
Mallorca, or Majorca, is the largest island in the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain and located in the Mediterranean. Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma, located in Palma and inaugurated on 30 January 2004, has a reserve of more than 700 works of art linked to artists from the Balearic Islands and/or of international renown. As well as conserving and publicising its collection, Es Baluard runs a programme of temporary exhibitions, cultural activities and educational and training cycles.
