Vicky Persinger
Victoria "Vicky" Persinger (born June 1, 1992) is an American curler from Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a three-time United States Women's National Champion. Career Persinger competed in eight United States Junior Championships, winning gold at her last appearance in 2013. As national champions, they represented the United States at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Östersund, Sweden, where they finished in seventh place with a 4–5 record. Since aging out of juniors, Persinger has medalled at every Women's National Championship she has competed in, six in a row as of 2020. At her first Women's Nationals in 2015, she played lead for skip Aileen Sormunen, they were the number one seed in the page playoffs but lost to Erika Brown in the 1 vs 2 game and to Patti Lank in the semifinals to finish with the bronze medal. 2021 United States Women's Curling Championship
The 2021 United States Women's Curling Championship was held from May 26 to 30, 2021 at the Wausau Curling Club in Wausau, Wisconsin. The event was held in conjunction with the 2021 United States Men's Curling Championship. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic The event was originally scheduled to be held February 6 to 13 at the ImOn Ice Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In August 2020, a derecho damaged the arena and the COVID-19 pandemic caused the repairs to be delayed significantly enough to necessitate moving the championships to a different venue. 2023 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship
The 2023 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship were held from February 28 to March 5, 2023, at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 2021 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship
The 2021 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from May 19 to 23, 2021 at the Wausau Curling Club in Wausau, Wisconsin. The championship featured twenty four teams split into four pools of six. After the round robin, the top two teams from each pool qualified for the playoffs with the first place teams advancing to the seeding round. In the final, the pair of Vicky Persinger and Chris Plys defeated Madison Bear and Andrew Stopera 8–5 to claim the title. It was a first mixed doubles championship for both Persinger and Plys, having finished runner–up in 2019 to the duo of Cory Christensen and John Shuster. Bear and Stopera went a perfect 7–0 in the tournament before dropping the final. The United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship is the national curling championship for mixed doubles curling in the United States. The winning team in the tournament represents the United States at that year's World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. History The 2021 Championship was originally planned to be held February 28 to March 6, 2021 at Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena in Irvine, California and also be the Mixed Doubles Olympic Trials for the 2022 Winter Olympics. In December, 2020, the USCA announced that all remaining 2020–21 events would be either cancelled or postponed until late spring 2021.
