2023 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship
The 2023 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship were held from February 28 to March 5, 2023, at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The championship featured sixteen teams, split into two pools of eight teams. After a round-robin within each pool, the top three teams from each pool advanced to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The winning team will represent the United States at the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Gangneung, South Korea. Chris Plys
Christopher Plys (; born August 13, 1987) is an American curler from Duluth, Minnesota. He is a Junior World Champion and two-time National Men's Champion. He was the alternate for the United States men's team at the 2010 Winter Olympics and a member of both the men's team and the mixed doubles team at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Plys started curling in 1998 at the age of eleven. He competed at seven Junior National Championships in a row, winning five of them, including four in a row as skip to finish his junior career. This gives him more junior national titles as skip than any other junior male. As US Champion, he competed at four World Junior Championships. In his first, 2006, Plys took ninth place in Jeonju, South Korea. The next year, in 2007, he took fifth place in Eveleth, Minnesota. And finally in 2008, Plys won the gold medal in Ostersund, Sweden. Vicky Persinger
Victoria "Vicky" Persinger (born June 1, 1992) is an American curler from Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a three-time United States Women's National Champion. Career Persinger competed in eight United States Junior Championships, winning gold at her last appearance in 2013. As national champions, they represented the United States at the 2012 World Junior Championships in Östersund, Sweden, where they finished in seventh place with a 4–5 record. Since aging out of juniors, Persinger has medalled at every Women's National Championship she has competed in, six in a row as of 2020. Hudson, Wisconsin
Hudson is a city in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2010 United States census, its population was 12,719. It is part of the Minneapolis–St. Paul Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The village of North Hudson is directly north of Hudson. Sydney Mullaney (born May 7, 2001) is an American curler from Concord, Massachusetts. She currently plays second on Team Delaney Strouse. She is a two-time champion of the United States Junior Curling Championships, going on to win the bronze medal at the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships and the 2023 Winter World University Games. Matthew James Hamilton (born February 19, 1989) is an American curler from McFarland, Wisconsin. He is a World Junior Champion, World Men's bronze medalist, and Olympic gold medalist. Hamilton currently plays second for the Duluth, Minnesota-based John Shuster team. Rebecca Lynn Hamilton (born July 12, 1990) is an American curler from McFarland, Wisconsin. She is a two-time national women's champion, a two-time national junior champion, and a two-time Olympian. At the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, she competed in mixed doubles curling with her brother, Matt, along with playing with the women's curling team.
