Vichit Praianan
Vichit Praianan, also known as Wichit Lukbangplasoi ( th, วิชิต ลูกบางปลาสร้อย); is a Thai muay thai fighter and boxer. He was a Lumpinee Stadium champion in Muay Thai and a silver medalist in boxing at the Asian Games and Asian Boxing Championships. He participated to the 1972 Summer Olympics as a lightweight, where he lost to James Busceme. Biography and career Vichit was born on 16 October 1951, in the Chonburi province where he started to train in Muay Thai at the age of 13 influenced by his older brother. Chonburi Province
Chonburi (, , ) is a province of Thailand (''changwat'') located in eastern Thailand. Its capital is also named Chonburi. Neighbouring provinces are (clockwise from north) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong, while the Bay of Bangkok is to the west. Posai Sitiboonlert ( th, โพธิ์ไทร สิทธิบุญเลิศ); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Prayong Makkong started Muay Thai at the age of 13 at the Kor Srimongkon Gym where he took the name "Posai Saktuanchai". Posai trained for three years before he started competing and won his first 20 fights, fighting in the provinces of Lopburi, Nakhon Sawan and Chainat. Based on this success he was brought to the Sitiboonlert gym. Posai reached his peak in the second half of the 1970s, being considered as an elite fighter from 1975 as he went undefeated during that year. Legend * Nai Khanomtom (circa 1700s) - a legendary Thai soldier and boxer during the era of the Ayutthaya Kingdom who become known as the founder of Muay Thai. Khanomtom lived during the Second Burmese War (1765–1767). At that time, the Ayutthaya Kingdom was losing its long-running conflict with the Konbaung dynasty. In 1767, the capital of the Ayutthaya Kingdom fell, and Khanomtom was one of the warriors who were captured and sent as a captive to the King of Burma. Khunponnoi Kiatsuriya ( th, ขุนพลน้อย เกียรติสุริยา); is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. Biography and career Khunponnoi started training in May Thai at the age of 12 with his uncle, competing in the Pattani province and in the neighbouring provinces. At 14 he followed his cousin Noppadej to the Kiatsuriya camp in Bangkok. Khunponnoi reached the status of top fighter in just three years after moving to Bangkok, being matched up with elite opposition by 1974. Sirimongkol Luksiripat ( th, ศิริมงคล ลูกศิริพัฒน์) was a Thai Muay Thai fighter. Biography and career Kasem Prapaisri was born in 1946 in Paedriew, Chachoengsao Province, once classmate with famous promotor Songchai Rattanasuban he had his first Muay Thai fight at the age of 17 using the ring name "Sukkasem Luksiyaek". During his second fight in his native province Kasem beat Usmannoi Luklong by knockout, Usmannoi would die from the injury sustained during the fight. Indoor Stadium Huamark ( th, อินดอร์ สเตเดียม หัวหมาก, , ) is an indoor sporting arena, located in Bangkok, Thailand. Pudpadnoi Worawut ( th, ผุดผาดน้อย วรวุฒิ) is a Thai Muay Thai fighter who competed in the 1970s. He is recognized as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time. Biography and career Ponn Ommklin started Muay Thai at the age of 14 in his native province of Khon Kaen, following the steps of his older brother. His parents wouldn't let him pursue Muay Thai full time before graduating high school which he did in 1969. During that period Pudpanoi competed in Isan over 60 times and went undefeated.
