Veslfjellet
Veslfjellet is a mountain in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Kollhøin and Besshø to the northwest, Besseggen and Gloptinden to the west, Bukkehåmåren to the southwest, and Heimdalshøe to the southeast. The lake Bessvatnet lies just north of the mountain. Besshø
Besshø or Besshøe is a mountain in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Kollhøin to the north, Veslfjellet and Besseggen to the southeast, Bukkehåmåren and Eggi to the south, and Gloptinden to the west. The mountain lies right above the lake Bessvatnet, along the Besseggen hiking trail. On the mountain's north-eastern side a small cirque glacier, and is surrounded by a large ice-cored moraine, a relatively rare feature in Norway. From Besseggen there is a nice view over the lakes Gjende and Bessvatnet. Gjende is about 400 m lower than Bessvatnet. Besseggen
Besseggen or Besseggi is a mountain ridge in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain ridge is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain ridge is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Veslfjellet to the east and Besshø to the northwest. The ridge runs between the lakes Gjende and Bessvatnet. The walk over Besseggen is one of the most popular mountain hikes in Norway. About 30,000 people walk this trip each year. Bessvatnet
Bessvatnet is a glacial lake in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The lake is located in the Jotunheimen mountain range and also inside the Jotunheimen National Park. The lake lies just east of the mountain Besshø. The lake Bessvatnet is known to everyone that has hiked the Besseggen ridge, as the narrow mountain ridge runs between the southern end of the dark blue lake Bessvatnet on one side of the ridge and the green lake Gjende lies below the other side of the ridge. Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date).
