Heimdalshøe
Heimdalshøe is a mountain on the border of Nord-Fron Municipality and Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains and in the upper Sikkilsdalen valley. The mountain sits about south of the village of Vågåmo and about north of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Styggehøe, Gravdalsknappen, and Ingulssjøhøi to the northeast; and Besshø and Besseggen to the northwest. At a height of above sea level, it is the highest mountain in the Nord-Fron municipality. The mountain's topographic prominence of is among Scandinavia's 200 highest. Nord-Fron is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Vinstra. Sikkilsdalen is a valley in Nord-Fron municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The valley is located in the eastern part of the Jotunheimen mountains, about to the southwest of the town of Otta, Norway, Otta. In topography, prominence (also referred to as autonomous height, relative height, and shoulder drop in US English, and drop or relative height in British English) measures the height of a mountain or hill's summit relative to the lowest contour line encircling it but containing no higher summit within it. Besseggen
Besseggen or Besseggi is a mountain ridge in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain ridge is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain ridge is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Veslfjellet to the east and Besshø to the northwest. The ridge runs between the lakes Gjende and Bessvatnet. The walk over Besseggen is one of the most popular mountain hikes in Norway. About 30,000 people walk this trip each year. Besshø
Besshø or Besshøe is a mountain in Vågå Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Jotunheimen mountains within Jotunheimen National Park. The mountain sits about southwest of the village of Vågåmo and about northwest of the village of Beitostølen. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Kollhøin to the north, Veslfjellet and Besseggen to the southeast, Bukkehåmåren and Eggi to the south, and Gloptinden to the west. The mountain lies right above the lake Bessvatnet, along the Besseggen hiking trail. On the mountain's north-eastern side a small cirque glacier, and is surrounded by a large ice-cored moraine, a relatively rare feature in Norway. Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date).
